Kinduva nasty-sounding title, but actually, I'm trying to find a way into Buffalo.
Apparently, there are no more sensibly priced tickets going in/coming out.
Greyhound or Amtrak coming from S.E. Virginia, while doable, will take almost a full day (20 hours).
So I'm wondering if there's any groups showing up at nearby airports (or even not nearby airports), then driving in.
Well?
You don't say where you are coming from, so that limits the advice you can receive somewhat. I will say this, though: a friend bought a ticket yesterday on jetBlue leaving JFK on Saturday afternoon and returning Monday morning for ~$200.

If you can wait to fly out on Monday, the airfares go down dramatically. Another option I looked at is flying into Erie, PA (95 miles away) and renting a car. I went with the first option since it minimized the overall costs of the trip, but if you can find some others to drive in from Erie with you it might be better, especially if you need to get home on Sunday. Good luck.
Other nearby towns include Cleveland (3hrs) and Toronto (1:45).
I live in Buffalo and the city everyone is forgetting to mention which is closer than any you have already mentioned is Rochester, NY (only a 55 minute drive to Buffalo!)
