Now 2-0 AFA

On a very gorgeous move by MTU.

Someone on Twitter said the MTU band took a bus from the U.P. overnight.

I love this sport.

The last 2 minutes before the GWG were bonkers. MTU had 2-3 great chances to pull it off.

What a collapse by St Cloud: scores to make it 1-2 with 2 to play, St Cloud goalie pulls himself then hauls ass back to then to the net to late to give up a goal. 2 more ENGs and it's 4-1 Flyboys.

At least nobody asking questions about why Calipari's boys don't shake hands. (Yeah, I know they're not a 1-seed this year.)

Doesn't begin to describe it.  MTU has a long cycling possession in the ND end, subbing in fresh players individually while the exhausted ND defense tries to keep up.  At one point the puck is lying near the post about three inches from an MTU OT win.  It gets swept out, ultimately ending on the stick of an MTU defenseman on the blueline dead center with open ice to the net.  He winds up for a slap shot.  And his stick breaks.  Puck slides into the neutral zone and a ND guy initiates the sequence that ends it.  Awesome.

Prov was like a brick wall when Clk entered the zone, and the few times Clk got set-up, the Friars seemed to block every shot.

there was a stat at some point in the third period that said Clarkson had 5 blocked shots and PC had *20* and that was before they clogged up the lanes during the desperate finish.

Maybe that Nate Leaman knows something about the league that Clarkson team is from.

Bummer

Excellent recap...I didn't have time to describe it as well as you did. I remember the broken stick happened on a one-timer attempt, but it was depressing to see, considering how close MTU came to scoring just beforehand.  That the winner was on a long deflection after a stop of the breakaway was rough. Hats off to MTU for a great effort.

Leaman had Union blocking shots and clogging things up too.  It might have even started with Kevin Sneddon.  I remember asking some Union fans about their shot blocking years ago and being told they practiced by blocking tennis balls or something similar.

Legit goalie interference call, but yep. And Mankato had a flurry in front of the UMD net that included a shot at a basically empty net... except for the Mankato player lying halfway in the goal and the puck hit him and stayed out. Wild 2 minutes.

Stan Moore started that as an assistant at Colgate. He brought it to Union as head coach. I'm not sure who else does it - but that's where that came from.

Duluth impresses me. They don't necessarily have accolades during the regular season or NCHC tournament but they always seem to squeak out wins in the NCAA's.
