Terrific - it looks great (as I watch it over and over and over and...) :-D

Will watching that clip over and over again make hair grow on my palms?
The best part is that no matter how many times you watch it... it'll always go in :-D

Nah, you'll just go blind :-D
BLIND WITH TEARS OF JOY!!!
That is FANTASTIC!!!!!
As enjoyable as this is, I can imagine it being completely lost on the non-college hockey fan. A little bit of commentary might have been helpful.
That said, I think I'm gonna watch it 4 or 5 more times :-}
Age,
Thanks for hosting the video and cleaning up my rather hastily captured mpeg.
I think that clip is going to replace "Matteau! Matteau! Matteau!!!" in my memory banks.
I feel the same way...I think I've watched it about 25 times. Of course, I didn't get to see the game (argghhhh), so it provides a little glimpse of the team I missed most of this year (I was at the season opener at OSU, but couldn't make it to any others). Oh...and I watched the Union game on hockey cam.
Maybe it was just my eyes, but it seems that a Cornell player (couldn't tell who, maybe Baby) was almost offsides on the McRae goal. If you look as McRae takes the puck into the zone, there is a Cornell player dashing to get back across the blue line. I guess hockey is a game of inches. :-)
Sorry if this has been covered already. With all the traffic on the board these days it's hard to keep up.
That's what made it such a great play, McRae had to wait for the zone to be cleared and was able to hold on to the puck, enter the zone with speed and then score the goal from a ridiculous angle. Just a great heads-up individual effort.
The clip was also shown on NewsCenter 10 last night, and they showed more of the celebration. Just after the SportsCenter clip ends, some exuberant Cornell player comes flying into the pile and lands on Dave LeNeveu! I know it's exciting, but DON'T DO THAT!! ::twitch::

My 2 year old daughter saw the clip of Lenny skating toward the celebration and said "That hockey player has *really* big legs." ::laugh::

Tell me about it. I think the server's melting. Turned off some nonvital database calls and upgraded to MySQL 4 yesterday. Hopefully that will help a bit, but there are still some occasional long queries that hold things up for a minute or so that I can't figure out...
There is a shot of me going crazy a few seconds after the goal is scored.

After the station identification, which starts the clip, the play-by-play cuts in at a much lower volume a few steps behind the action. As McCrae makes the turn toward the goal, the announcer is commenting that he had to wait for [unintelligible] to clear the zone. The voice then interrupts itself, "GOAL!" :-D :-D :-D :-D
I'm pretty sure it was Hynes clearing the zone just as Matt was taking it in.
Shane's forecheck helped cause the loose pass that Matt picked up in the neutral zone, just like Baby's looming presence caused the BC defender along the boards (Alberts?) to whip the puck blindly behind the net right onto Vesce's stick setting up the first--and also unassisted--goal.
[Speaking of Hynes, how many teams have two players named after Alan Ladd?B-] ]
Where can I get the QT plugin to play the clip? I thought I had it, but something's not working right...

You need Quicktime 6.1. If it's not the most recent version it won't work.
