Title: Congratulations from Minnesota
Post by: CJ83 on March 31, 2003, 09:01:41 AM
Congratulations on your OT victory yesterday, and welcome back to the Frozen Four. The only two Cornell games I have seen were in the Regional this weekend, but the thing that impressed me most was the great depth you have. Your squad certainly has all the pieces, and no real weaknesses that I can see. What an incredible game vs BC.

Best of luck against New Hampshire. We here in Gopher country hope to see you in the finals.

I don't see why we should be rude to a reasonable Minnesota fan.  All 4 teams that made it to the Frozen Four definitely deserve to be there, and I'll be looking forward to watching 4 great hockey games.

So, congratulations to Minnesota, and I hope Cornell gets a chance to play one of the western teams.

Saying "thanks" is rude.?. wow  and they did play the weakest team in the tourney as defending champions, not as #  seed.  so, the facts  are the facts.  We'll try to give them a better game than Mercyhurst..  Don't you agree?

Between Michigan, Cornell and New Hampshire I have no doubt as to how tough the games will be. Personally, I'm not a big fan of the way the NCAA handles the tournament. If Cornell was the #1 seed overall, they should have played the #16 team in the first round. Period. The Gophers, as #3-4, should have met the #13-14 squad. If that opponent is a conference foe, so be it.

Anyway, I look forward to seeing Cornell again in Buffalo. It was fun to watch the East Regional, as it's tough to see ECAC games here in Minnesota otherwise. Best of luck against New Hampshire.

Very nice to see a Gopher fan visit the board, and good luck against Michigan.

My impression is that Cornell, UNH, and Minny are all about even, with Michigan a step behind (unless they move the F4 to Yost).  I'm torn between rooting for Minnesota (we joined forces with their fans back in the 97 Van Andel regional and I've liked them since) and rooting against Minnesota (a very dangerous team with all that experience from last year).

Anyway, we've got a great field.

My bad.  With the smiley, I thought you had meant that Minnesota had such an easy road to the Final Four that they didn't deserve to be there.  Rereading your post, I realize that that wasn't what you meant.
