Brendan Smith not dressed on D? Did he leave and I didn't notice?

Nuttle scores a ppg after a long 5x3; great puck movement.  1-0.

Bliss also not dressed.

My guess is Schafer is trying out the frosh to get some experience in the exhibition.

Mullin off the Rauter rebound, 2-0.

Cairns and Green already look like top 4 Dmen.

Betts, Cairns, Donaldson, Mullin all teammates last year at Powell River, all playing together tonight.

I wonder if we've ever had 4 freshmen from the same place all skating before.

Given that he's dressing extra forwards, the only explanation is that Smith and Bliss are hurt.

Green onetimer off Vanderlaan gorgeous cross-ice feed.  3-0.

Haiskenen is also a healthy scratch.  it's possible Mike will shift to the other upperclassmen tomorrow night.

It looks like the athletic office finally got someone halfway competent / witty to do bits.  These intermission pieces are very WRPIsque.  That is a compliment.

McGrath now in net, so we got all 3 in tonight and it would appear we have the rare 3-way battle.

Donaldson from in front, 5-1.

Hard to tell against Guelph but this team looks pretty fast, and a bunch of freshmen (Cairns, Green, Donaldson, Barron, Betts, Mullin) look like they can be solid performers.

Cairns now from the point, 6-1.  Bauld maybe with the defection.

Don't hold me to it, it is Saturday night, but if I read the line score correctly.....there were 19 total points, by 19 different players?

Yes, Angello was not dressed.

On another note, what the heck was with the band (bass drum) and the counting of our goals (immediately following "Davy." ) Instead of the regular, dare I say "age-old" timing, the beat was much, MUCH faster, and really annoying. This ridiculously fast tempo then continued into the chanting of "sieve" and "it's all your fault!"

I know there are pep band alums and occasionally pep band leaders participating here. If that's the case now, please make this stop, and return to the regular cadence that before tonight had not changed significantly in decades.

Didn't you say that one was going to OT? How could Princeton win by 2?

The Canadian Natl Anthem was played woefully fast..... Bordering on disrespectful...   That HAS to be slowed down, out of respect to the Canadians on the ice....

CHN was interesting for that game last night.  They had, in succession, 3-3 in overtime, then 4-4 in overtime, and then 6-4 final.

I don't write em I just read em.

The result of what they (or perhaps just one of the drummers) did last night will be the eventual ending of the tradition of chanting "sieve" and "it's all your fault" after we score. If you're OK with that then yes, last night was fine.

It's exhibition.  The band's gotta assimilate all those dopey frosh.  Give it a couple Lynah weekends.

Schafer acknowledged all those guys not skating last night were hurt except Angello who just has a stomach flu.  Sounds like they are all dinged except Bliss.  I hope Bliss isn't still recovering from the back problems.
