Yes, he did graduate in three years. He took summer courses and overloads during the year.

Are you sure he is going into business? He majored in Biomedical Engineering.

Yep, along with Cleary Cups and Hobey Baker awards.

Besides for Lou Nanne graduating in three years, RPI's Drew Melanson is also graduating after his junior year. As opposed to Nanne, whose hockey career is ending, Melanson is transferring to BU, where he will continue his education and will be able to play immediately as grad students don't have to sit out a year. Melanson was recruited by BU, among other schools, before attending RPI.

RPI is also reportedly losing Bradley Bell, Liam McBain, and Sam Rappaport. The latter two didn't see any game action.

While BU was loaded last year, they did have a lot of early departures as well so I'm sure Melanson will have an important role for them.

I made a semantic error writing that Melanson is transferring to BU. He graduated, so he is enrolling as a grad student there, not transferring. That's the loophole under which he can play immediately. Sitting out only applies to transfers.

It also has been reported that RPI soph-to-be Jacob Hayhurst, the leading scorer among freshmen, is considering transferring, and the staff is trying to convince him to stay.

Also RPI incoming recruit Bailey Conger decommitted. This is his second decommitment since he originally was a SLU recruit and left their fold when they changed coaches a year ago. I wonder if this has ever happen before.

IIRC we lost a decommit to Michigan who subsequently decommitted from Michigan and went to the QMJHL.

There is a post on USCHO containing an unverified rumor that SLU goalie Kyle Hayton will graduate this summer and play next year for Wisconsin.

John McCarron's younger brother Mike was committed to Cornell. He decommitted and committed to Western Michigan. Then he decommitted and went to the London Knights of the OHL.

I can't think of anyone who did something similar with Michigan (Nolan DeJong played at Michigan)

That's the one.  Thanks.
