Anyone getting a game feed yet?
Post Edited (03-30-03 17:53)
I am hearing the commercials only on the internet feed posted- although it says BC broadcast.
I'm talking to my Dad on the phone (in Albany) and he says it's on tv and the game is underway....seems BC isn't broadcasting.
Game on. Adam very amped. Cornell crowd sounds terrific.
Where? Please tell me where to go to find this audio link! (Yesterday I called my ex-wife, in Ithaca, and had her put the phone by the radio, and listened via cell-phone, but today that is not possible.
Please help!

BC feed now active, at http://playlist.yahoo.com/makeplaylist.dll?id=1179274&segment=106119
Heavy Cornell shot from the point deflected. Chris Abbott and the ref just creamed each other. ;-)
Penalty coming on Cornell. BC pp.
The BC link doesn't work. The Cornell athletics link works fine.
Big save Lenny and the cover.
Penalty on Murray. Cornell 2 men down. :-(
Adam notes this happened against UNH last year early too.
Lenny huge save.
37 sec. left with as Boston 5 on 3
BC Eaves and SDhannon cycling well but BC called for man in the crease.
I just want to verify that some portion of the tv broadcast of this game is indeed being tape-delayed....otherwise I'll fix the subject of this thread. Can anyone verify this?
Wallace clears off the next draw and then BC offside bringing it in. 30 seconds to go on 5-on-3.
5 on 4.
Yes, the whole game is tape delayed later so do not update the thread or make any reference to the score outside of this thread.
Pressure on Lenny but quick whistle. Cornell crowd standing. One man back 45 seconds to go on other penalty.
PP comes to end. No score!
Palahicky clears. VERY loud Cornell crowd. Cornell with great pressure as Murray returns!!!!!!!
Lenny another huge save. 10:20 to go in first, 0-0.
Vesce scores! 1-0 Cornell:-D
Adam must be closer to the Cornell crowd than the BC announcer....doesn't sound quite so loud on their feed.
Ok, I'll leave the thread title alone!
VESCE 1-0!!!!
Edit: DEFINITELY could hear the Cornell crowd on that score.
Post Edited (03-30-03 12:26)
VESCE!! 1-0 CU!
1, we want more, sieve sieve sieve sieve sieve....
I'm annoyed because TWC here in Ithaca (Ch. 77) is ONCE AGAIN not working
Unassisted goal for Vesce.
VESCE SCORES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wrister up high at 10:05.
Penalty on BC.
8:50 left in first period. Shots 4-3 in favor of BC. BC penalty. Big Red pp.
anyone having trouble with channel 77?
Vesce, Baby, Murray, Paolini, Mark McRae on pp.
BC clears after Vesce feather pass just jumps McRae's stick.
#2 unit on led by Pegoraro. Not getting traction. BC breakaway just stripped. Knoepfli with a great move other end but just stoned.
PP over. Icing on BC with 6:17 left in 1st. TV timeout.
Hynes with a great chance but pp ends. 6:17 to go, 1-0.
Kalitanen juggled big shot from point but covers. Vesace wins face; long rebound, Moulson shot but saved again. Cornell buzzing.
5 min to go in 1st, still 1-0.
So far we're playing a good game, but the pace is really, really fast. Combined with the timeouts that helps BC.
Cornell to the PP with 3:48 left.
Palahicky shot, rebound Mark McRae missed, Palahicky another shot saved and BC penalty.
BC was pretty physical in the beginning, but i think they can't handle cornell's strength
Shots are now 10-6 Cornell, 9-2 since the 5-on-3.
#1 pp unit on. BC clears.
Nice scrum in front but BC clears; BC with a weak chance other end, now Knoepfli leads the charge into BC end. Cook to Hynes one-timer, saved.
LUCKY SIEVE
#2 unit on :16 to go in pp. Good chances so far by the Red.
pp ends. Book on Kaltiainen is that he gives up a lot of juicy rebounds.
Under a minute in first, BC speed generatign some plays. Shots 11-7 Cornell.
Baby offsides. :35.3 to go.
Damnit, penalty on Cornell with 1 second to go. That was dumb.
End first 1-0 CU
BC starts the second with a PP
Post Edited (03-30-03 12:43)
End of 1st period. Cornell 1, BC 0. BC pwer play to start the second period.
Hehe, just saw Age on TV at the end of the first. :-D
BC pulls goalie and nearly scores as time runs out. Cornell up 1-0 after 1 but on kill for nearly a full 2 minutes to start the second.
VERY strong period. Surprisingly up-tempo, very little hitting. It sounds like we have a much better system and better discipline, while BC has a couple guys (Eaves certainly) who we can't even give a foot of free ice without them being dangerous).
Cap says "Penalty killing is a big part of the ..uh...penalty kill" HAHAHA
Period 2 about to start.....anyone get the shots totals from the 1st?
10-6 in favor of cu
Official shots were 10-6. Palahicky and Knoepfli almost combine on a 2-on-1 shorty early in the second.
DAMNITTTTT
Baby against the boards against 3 BC players -- about even.
Lenny great save and then Cornell flattens a BC guy; penalty.
5-on-3 over. Vesce out of the box on the kill.
Out of play, 1:30 / 17:17; 1-0.
I'm blind, I'm def....I wanna be a ref:-(
When the opponents' announcers say it's a marginal call......the ref just sucks.
Murrya and Baby great on this kill. :42 to go on penalty.
Cook solid clear; about 20 seconds to go. Palahicky pesting on Kaltiainen (hereafter "K").
Cornell had to defend a short 5-3. Full strength now.
... and BC still sucks. Bell with a nice play outta the box.
PP for Cornell. LGR!
Albert roughing. 15:22 to go in 2nd, Cornell on pp.
First unit cycling; Vesce/Murray/Paolini setting up but no good shots.
:48 on pp. Unit #2 led by Hynes and Pegoraro. Hynes up top Cook keeps it in and deflection just over crossbar. :15 to go.
back to 5x5
Even strength, Bell aggressive and almost caught up ice. Lots of transition play, not much even strength. Same as first period.
BC kicks the puck in. Under review.
Possible BC goal...under review.
It counts. 1-1.
Post Edited (03-30-03 13:13)
Adams' description: BC player was being pulled down as puck went off his leg. Question is whether it was intentional.
That was kicked in god damn it
It counts. 1-1.
FUCKING BULLSHIT
ZD
I hate BC and their fans
I don't hate BC. I do hate their fans.
Cornell has been playing extremely well; just like against Mankato they need to keep playing their game.
Matt McRae right in on K and Cook at no shot at the nice rebound at his feet.
Shots are 14-10 Cornell. Lenny big save and the booths are so close at the Dunk that I can hear the BC announcer calling the game next to Adam.
Nice save by Lenny. 10:00 to go in the 2nd.
Cowbell clanking away.
BC hitting a little. Maybe we will do so as well (although every time we hit one of their dwarf forwards we get a penalty).
And... naturally... it's Greg Hornby who delivers the big hit! And Cornell seems to have picked up a step. CU with offensive zone faceoff; Vesce on for it.
Vesce wins face; Murray, Moulson, and Baby doing a good job controlling the puck. Downs' deflection shot wide. Moulson two straight chances, taken down but no call.
Baby on a semi-break off interception stoned by K. Faceoff in BC zone. TV timeout.
Shots 17-11 Cornell. About 7 mins to go in 2nd.
Hynes offsides. About 5 stoppages in last 2 mins, game slowing down.
Icing BC. 6 mins to go, faceoff in BC end.
Murray nice clear; Moulson strips Forrest and just brings it back offside as Baby was all alone in front.
BC offsides now. 4:03 to go, game very discontinuous now.
Cornell handpass 3:49 to go. TV timeout.
Hooking on BC, 2:52 to go.
BC announcers: questionable call by Agent 86 (Don Adams is the referee's name).
Now Cornell takes a penalty.
Post Edited (03-30-03 13:35)
If anything, the discontinous nature of play the last couple of minutes takes the momentum away from BC after their "goal".
CU on PP
Yes, slower play good for us. McRae got thrown bodily into the net by a BC player, no call. BC about to go on abbreviated pp.
Post Edited (03-30-03 13:36)
End 2nd....BC still has 23 seconds of PP
1-1
Murray's back blocks a shot in final second, ouch but thanks! 23 seconds to go in BC pp when 3rd period begins.
I'm going to sound like a sophomoric prig (hey, what else is new?), but I'm *stunned* by how biased Sean Grande and Tim Sweeney (announcing crew) are. Sweeney *went* to BC, so I guess that's his excuse, but what about Grande? He's a good guy (I've met him a few times), but I'd say it to his face: all he does is say what an unbelievable job the Eagles are doing.
"It's a little late for Cornell to be going to the body."
"Every minute that goes by favors the underdog."
"I can't believe that (BC defenseman) was able to know how much time was left in the 4-on-4. That's like Rain Man!" (um, isn't there a big clock?)
And if he refers to Jerry York's notebook one more time, my mute button's getting a workout.
Harumph.
ZD
"No goal"
Post Edited (03-30-03 13:56)
Boston Area audience: 2 million.
Ithaca Area audience: 20 thousand.
I hear Gary Glitter. Third period nearly underway.
Even strength again. Vesce opened the period by winning about his 800th faceoff.
BC knocks the net off as Cornell threatened but no call.
These BC announcers are really sucking.
16:16 to go in third. McRae taken down but no call.
Wow, 4 straight non calls against BC and then the first chance they call Vesce. 15:43 to go.
BC on pp, Cornell needs to be tough .
There better be a quick equalizer here.
Scramble in front of Lenny, play blown dead. 14:48, 1-1.
Knoepfli clears, shots 22-13 Cornell.
Even strength, BC 0x6. Paolini a couple nice set ups. 12:30 to go.
Vesce hits the crossbar and is taken down. BC penalty. 11:48 to go.
Mark McRae post! Vesce mugged no call.
Even strength. Eaves shot deflected in front. End to end action now. Palahicky nice clear and offsides. 9:03, 1-1.
BC scores, 2-1.
Murray arguing, Adam says LeNeveu was run down during the goal.
NO GOOOOOAAAALLLLL
NO goal! Man in the crease
Looks like it'll be disallowed...and it is.
Post Edited (03-30-03 14:17)
I LOVE THE CREASE RULE!!! NOGOAL
DISALLOWED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Man in the crease.
So apparently what happened was BC player plowed Lenny, and while the ref's judgment was that the hit on Lenny didn't disallow the goal, the man was in the crease and thus no goal.
So, reviewing the reviews:
BC goal allowed
Cornell goal disallowed
BC goal disallowed
They still owe us one. ;-)
6:21
5:55, #1 line on.
BC ices, 4:48
4:48
LETS GO RED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Out of play, faceoff in front of BC zone, 2:53 to go.
i want to hear more cornell cheering at the stadium...they ahve to pump up the team!!! KILL HORNBY KILL
Wow, a lot of energy in the closing seconds. We go to o.t.
End of regulation. 1-1.
going to overtime. Lets go red!
whoa this is impossible to watch!! i am so nervous for them...but i know they can do it. lets go red!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the abbott fan
Shots were 8-7 for BC in the 3rd
25-19 for Cornell in the game.
Lenny saves the game on Eaves in the first minute of o.t.
LET'S GO RED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
3 good chances for BC early. 13:31 to go in first o.t.
I'm so nervous ::yark::
COME ON RED......KILL BC
9:59. BC ices. Cornell in control the last couple of minutes.
9:29 BC ices. Cornell really putting on pressure now.
Palahicky puts it on net and K with the juggle and save. Shots 30-22.
2 more Cornell faceoff wins, pass, shot, save and covers. All Big Red right now.
BC calls timeout with their first offensive zoen faceoff in about 10 mins. Cornell has the last 8 shots, most of them deadly.
BC getting some deadly shots
Voce (BC) hits the post!
BC icing 3:30 to go
Cornell winning about 2/3 of the faceoffs. Paolini, Hornby, Lenny have been great in o.t.
Lenny for Hobey!
Lenny 4 Hobey
Lenny two huge saves with :42 to go.
Teams trade great end-to-end chances in the final 5 seconds. End of 1st overtime, 1-1.
Well, ok, that was basically breathtaking for 20 minutes. BC controlled the first 5 minutes and had 3 great chances, Cornell controlled the next 10 minutes and had about 6 great chances, then both teams traded jabs in the final 5. Whenever the play goes to the boards Cornell had a big advantage, plus the faceoffs are about 55-35 Cornell thanks mostly to Vesce.
SCOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORE:-D
Post Edited (03-30-03 15:40)

MATT MCRAE!!!!
Post Edited (03-30-03 15:39)
MATT MCRAE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And they set a Cornell Record for wins in a season!
The funny thing about Matt's goal is that it was on one of the poorer scoring opportunities of either overtime.
It was a fantastic shot. He was so deep, I didn't think he was even going to shoot it. What a game. That was such a great roadtrip.
To quote the great Alanis Morisette, "Thank you Providence."
