Title: Alumni in the Pros- March '17
Post by: cth95 on March 06, 2017, 10:01:22 PM
Just realized a little irony I hadn't noticed before-  Riley Nash is on the same line as Dominic Moore for the Bruins.

Ryan is being used as an insurance policy/emergency depth chip right now as he was recalled & sent back down within a 48-hour period.

That's twice now he's been called up and hasn't cracked the lineup.  Can't imagine what that feels like, especially since he's playing so well in the AHL.  Here's hoping he gets his chance soon.

Riley Nash scores 2 to beat the Islanders, apparently revenge served cold for something Trotsky said at an Afterglow.

If so it was a wide shot.  Cornell > everybody, even the Mets (though it's closer than I care to admit).

In some sort of weird Mets vs Cornell championship, I think I'd lean Mets.  Cornell's ahead of all my other rooting interests, though.

I love my Cornell alums but back when I paid attention to the NHL, if, say, Manderville scored on the Red Wings I'd have called his mom and cursed at her until the cops showed up.

Speaking of... are there any Manderville-Ratushny spawn nearing college age?  I like the look of those genes.

Ethan:  DOB 7/1/2000 [makes you feel old, doesn't it, when the scouting reports are looking at kids born in this millennium]

Ethan has a younger sister but I am blanking on her name.

6'3 and drafted late in an OHL draft (usually a sign he's headed to the NCAA)

This seemed about the best place to post this -- an interesting interview with Joe Nieuwendyk on ESPN Ithaca radio (http://www.espnithaca.com/2014/09/09/between-the-lines-podcast/)

Unfortunately that type of move is also one of his greatest weaknesses.
