So we beat Brown 4-2, Brown beat Colgate 4-2, and Colgate beat Yale 4-1.
Let's hope transitivity holds and Cornell > Brown > Colgate > Yale. :)
Edit: It did!
This Yale team's defense is something to behold. Certainly not what it has been the past few seasons.

Our defense is something to behold as well. All three Yale goals have been on CU failures to pick up a man near the goal.

I don't know about the defense, and maybe he's just having an off night, but Spano looks like a big step down from Lyon. He has been repeatedly beaten on his glove side. I would be surprised if he's not pulled for the 3rd period
hard to believe we could score this many goals and be like 0-15 on the PP

Such hyperbole! (We were only 0-14 on the weekend.)
I'll take 0 for anything they want if they win every game they fail to score on a PP.
And just like that Cornell joins QU to be the only other team with a 4-point weekend. Very good.
Amazing blocked shot statistics, 28-1.

Of course, we get them next. ::worry::

Clarkson?
This was an 8 point weekend as the women also swept. And football beat Columbia. And it was a sunny day in Ithaca. Nothing to complain about!

I knew I forgot somebody. They actually seem to have some offense (3 goals in every game so far) this year. In fact, they're hosting the Yale/Brown pairing next weekend so that average will probably stay intact.

I'm sure that's not correct and I'm home now. I noticed the stat during the game, on CHN, where else. :-) Yale had a number of blocked shots after I noticed it, so the stat is inaccurate. The whole process of stats tonight was suspect. They constantly had to add assists for us after the announcement was made. Even after they changed two of our goals, they then listed one of Mitch's goals as unassisted. That was quite remarkable considering it was a one-timer from the face-off circle and I don't think Yale set him up. That was changed late in, or after the game. I know that some of those mistakes could have been refs not giving correct assists and the team correcting later, but I don't believe last night's stats, except for the goals, of course. :-D

Where did you find that?

It's on the CHN app. I was tracking it throughout the game. It was 10-0 after one period, 16-1 after two.
While it may not have been 100 percent accurate, it was fairly accurate. Yale spent a lot of time on the power play, cycling the puck around, and our forwards were doing a great job of getting their bodies into the shooting lanes. They kept trying to set up their big scorer, Hayden, in front of the net. One of the few times the puck actually got through to him there led to their lone power-play goal.
One reason Yale didn't block many shots was that most of our shots, and virtually all of our goals, came on the rush (this was pointed out by the 10-year-old youth hockey player sitting in back of me!). We didn't spend a lot of time cycling the puck in the Yale zone, even on our power plays.
I'd like to see another replay of this, but I'm pretty sure that shot that hit our post and then came back out in front actually came back out right through Gillam's legs (reverse five-hole?) Assuming that is true, that was certainly a bit of puck-luck, as the puck easily could have hit either of Gillam's skates / legs, and wound up in the net.

It's almost freakin historic to have an eight point weekend AND a football win.
If my research is correct- it has only happened ONCE this millennium. Weekend of Oct 26 and 27 2012. Football wins against Princeton, Men get 4 pts vs Colgate, women get their 4 vs Brown and Yale.::drunk::

OK, Ezra Sports Bureau members, here's one for you: When's the last time both the Men's and Women's Hockey teams notched a hat trick on the same weekend?
Working off this: http://www.tbrw.info/index.html?/players/cornell_Hat_Tricks.html and the USCHO box scores:
Chelsea Karpenko had 3 goals, but in 2 games vs. Colgate on Jan 21-22, 2011 and most of the weekends of the Men's Hat Tricks after 2000 (when the USCHO women's box scores start), the women's *team* didn't score 3 goals in a weekend.
Hi Al. Chris 03 wins.
