Title: Cornell vs Colgate
Post by: Ken711 on October 01, 2016, 01:52:59 PM
Ouch...this is going to be an ugly loss for the Big Red.  Already 21-0 Colgate on the way to a blow out.  Better hope they don't lose any starters to injuries.

this was not a game anyone had good feelings about.

Banks limped off the field on the previous possession.  :-/  Now 28-5 Colgate.

31-19 Colgate early in the third is not a blowout.

Am I only looking at one part of the stands, or is this game lightly attended?

38-33 Colgate end of three.  Cornell TDs on four straight possessions.

They are staying with a good team.  I am impressed with these guys.  Considering how this game started they could easily have packed up early and sat out the last 3 quarters.

Cornell with the ball, could take the lead with this drive...

I just turned on the Lehigh-Yale game:  Lehigh 63 (!!!), Yale 28 after 3.  Wow.

And they just put in a plug for next week's game...Cornell-Harvard!

That was pretty amazing. I had checked my phone at 21-2, this seemed so outside the realm of possibility.

More impressive is that they were down by so much at the half, and didn't give up.  Even had two 2nd half turnovers, 4 for the game.

This is a signature win for the program and a win and one that will certainly make people think differently about Cornell this season.

Congrats to Archer and the team for a truly impressive win that has huge confidence implications.

Archer has been calling the offense.  I think he may be on to something....

I just looked at the stats on ESPN.  Cornell had 454 yards passing. Incredible.

The QB (a sophomore) played on the JV team last year.  And I believe we have a *** freshman QB on the team who has yet to play.

This is still a pretty young, relatively inexperienced team.  This is only the QBs third start.

True. But, so far they've shown a lot of poise for being such underdogs.

And barring injury (fingers crossed) to Banks,it could be a long time before anyone else plays QB for Cornell

I didn't see this game but in the last one he made the type of strong over the middle throws threading coverage that Ivy QBs typically are not capable of.

I have been overly critical of the athletic department and football in general.  I listened to the last minute on the radio on my way home from work.  I was and still am impressed by the comeback.  Also excited for the young men who came to CU with a dismal football presence on campus.  Kiddos and continued success boys.
