I'm so afraid that interest in our lacrosse program may be waning??
So few posts.
But, just in case it's folks waiting for hockey to play out.....

"LGR"!! ::cheer::
Great afternoon: 5 goal run in the fourth gives Cornell a 14-9 lead and then a 14-10 victory over #17 Virginia. 60-degree weather, sunny. If only Cornell has the 4-seed and hosting an ECAC quarterfinal hockey game, this would have been a must-visit weekend in Ithaca.
17 saves by Brennan Donville (61%), 10 saves on 12 shots in Q3. Cornell was outshot 43-34. 4 goals by freshman Colton Rupp after 4 vs. Albany. Rupp, Colton has almost the same syncopation as Rob Pannell.
Great win. Over at laxpower.com, I and others have been blasting the coaches for an anemic, flat, predictable offense. But today's team seemed to be channeling the great 70s run-and-gun bingo-bango-bongo teams of the 70s! They were aided by poor defense on the Cavs part, but it was still so much fun to see.
This team now has hope, and a future!
LGR!
That would be awesome, back to the days of having the two nation's two best attackmen in 1976 and a defense that got an NCAA shutout. One game doesn't make us a final four contender but if the narrative is "young team, improving every game," then the Big Red is indeed coming back.

And the next two recruiting classes, highlighted by all-everything attackman Jeff Teat coming in next year, look stacked. Right now we have more young defensive depth (Pulver, Reilly, Otterman(!) and Flynn are all underclassmen) than I can recall. As the young offensive players (Rupp. Bray, Petterson (who plays both ways), and Ward) continue to acclimate to D-1 lacrosse, we should have a lot to look forward to.
Provided the coaches know how to mold the talent into a coherent team with some strategic vision. That's been the question mark. Today was a good sign, though.
One of the big positives I drew from the game was the rotation of the offensive midfield lines. It was good to see the 2nd offensive midfield line alternating with the first. Makes me hopeful for the season. One of the things that bothered me during the last 10 years was the tendency to play the first offensive line for it seemed like 9/10ths of the time on offense. Players have only so many miles in their legs over the seasom.

You're absolutely right. I haven't looked specifically at the midfielders, but given the overall youth of our team, by next year we should be deep for 2+ midfields.
