Anyone looking to fly into New England for the weekend have luck in finding decent flights? The prices I am seeing are outrageous--not sure due to NCAA bball tourney (2-3 Indiana teams), the war, etc? :-(

Flying at the last minute is always tricky. Try http://beta.itasoftware.com/
Yes I know, although two weeks ago I flew to LGA for less than $200, on a ticket bought less than 24 hrs in advance. Guess I got spoiled.
Try: www.site59.com
They specialize in last minute travel deals, that include flight/hotel (car optional).
Highly recommend the site.
Have you tried Southwest? They fly to Providence.
They're not on the major flight search engines. You usually have to try their webpage.

USAirways just released their e-savers for this week for roundtrips departing Saturday and returning Sunday-Tuesday.
DC to Providence is $148
Greensboro, NC to Providence is $158
Orlando, FL to Boston is $168
Louisville, KY to Boston is $148
Fayetteville, NC to Boston is $158
Columbia, SC to Boston is $158
Those are roundtrip fares.
There's a fare for trips originating from Boston to Indianapolis, but it doesn't look like it's good for the opposite.

A word of caution on those E-Savers. They are often good for only 1 departure on the date mentioned. In other words, USAirways (and other airlines who have these "deals") sometimes advertise a cheap fare to grab your eye, yet don't tell you it's for the 11:20pm departure or what have you.
indeed I got the esaver email, but it aint gonna work. looks like I won't be a makin' it this weekend. multiple airlines even have "sold out" flights. what's that about? it's as if I"m traveling to FL over Christmas. :-p
make that, it's NOT as if I"m traveling to FL over Christmas
