Title: Question from a Pre-Frosh
Post by: Tao Tan \'07 on March 25, 2003, 05:49:19 PM
So I'm a 2007 Engineering student, and I've got some questions.

1. Where does one camp out to get season tickets?
2. When is the proper time to camp out to get season tickets?
3. How many season tickets may one person buy?
4. How long's the "wait"?

Thanks! Go Red!

Changes from year to year. Check cornellbigred.com periodically, or back here. They'll announce the procedure sometime after the season - probably around early May. The last few years, it's been near or in the Ramin Room in the Fieldhouse (aka: Bartels Hall). The announcement will include the date but it's always mid to late September. You have always had the option to buy 1 or 2 tickets in the past ($90 per season ticket). The wait in generally like Friday night 'til Sunday afternoon or that general range. So, a day or so.

The inquiry about this already makes me afraid of how many people will show up this year... it was too many already last year, perhaps athletics should consider that.

Could we interest you in a ticket to the donut center in Providence?

Wow - you all are too nice.  I was expecting to see responses like, "at the vet school tower on Nov 1," etc - especially if you are worried about a long line for tickets this fall (I would be, too!).  ::help::

Good luck to all who strive for tickets this fall - should be a wild time....

That is why we never gave up our season tickets even after we had left Ithaca.  Having bought them as "townies" when I was working at Cornell, we have been able to renew our seats each year since.  That allowed us the opportunity to take in the Harvard game last November at Lynah.

I guess I won't be seeing some of you at the vet school tower on November 1  ::nut::   (Tao:  There is no vet school tower, man.)

Ummm, then what is that building known as the Vet Research Tower that has been siting at the end on Tower Road since 1974?

Oh, they only WANT you to believe that's the Vet Tower.  Top secret stuff.  Has something to do with cloning Lenny.

Muuaahaha.

They built it while you were in Asia, Tom.;-)

In my mind, there is only one tower on campus--the bell tower (or the clock tower).  Everything else is just building.  (I know, semantics...)  Certainly, Tower Road refers to the one that had a pumpkin on its top, and not any other structure on that road.  B-]

While I was in Asia, they re-shaped the engineering quad and put in that monster called the Duffield Hall.

Anyone else think it's cool that Tower Road, McGraw Tower, Baker Arch, and the Baker Flagpole all line up?

Anyone else not notice that until JTW brought it up?

How about Balch and Dickson Halls spell CU???  ;-)
That is cool, too.

[Q]Anyone else think it's cool that Tower Road, McGraw Tower, Baker Arch, and the Baker Flagpole all line up?[/Q]

This was first postulated by Eric Von Damnagain in his treatise "Chariots of the Blogs" as proof postive that Ezra Cornell was an advanced life form, likely from another galaxy.

Research at Rockefeller hall notwithstanding, I'm sure that I never would have notice this without Eric's help.

Hmm...  I don't know how I feel about human cloning, but if it means we can have a goalie like him forever and ever and ever...  by all means, go ahead!  :-D
