Title: Senior night ILDN-cast - video goes dark when?
Post by: billhoward on February 21, 2015, 05:50:19 PM
Is the glass half-full or half-empty? Will our $79 $129 annual ILDN subscription get us to see all of senior night? I have to admit as a parent of a college jock senior this year [okay, it's Ultimate], I get a little lump seeing Cornell moms and dads hug their Cornell sons. I hope I get to see it. Please, keep the feed going.

My guess is the broadcast will stay up but Jason will yap all the way through it.

At some point video will be more important than audio feed and the broadcast will have to adapt.

The radio broadcast doesn't have to adapt -- Jason's there to yap so he yaps.  But the video feed should pull the plug on the radio feed after the game ends and just cut in the rink PA and the ambient sound.

In Ithaca, is permissable to do without hiring union electrician?

They showed it all. No direct link from the PA into the broadcast.

Cornell and ILDN did manage to keep the video feed open until every senior was salted and the alma mater played. The only downer was there's no feed from the PA system into WHCU's mixer box so all you heard of Arthur's announcements was the faintest of words.

Nice for us fans not at the game, very nice for relatives who couldn't make it to see their players.

I was at the game.  It was my first senior night.  Very impressive.

Gotta admit I got a bit misty when they played the Alma Mater at the end.

You do at home, too, which is why it's nice that Cornell now keeps the broadcast going until the entire event finishes, not just the game.

Best place to put this, I guess. Cole's selfie from the ceremony:
