Title: Columbia Fooball Players Call For Mangurian To Be Fired
Post by: Josh '99 on December 04, 2014, 02:55:51 PM
Deadspin article (http://deadspin.com/columbia-footballers-coach-forced-us-to-play-through-c-1666801499)

Original article from Columbia Spectator (http://columbiaspectator.com/sports/2014/12/04/football-players-accuse-mangurian-downplaying-concussions-write-letter-calling-his)

Quote"Pete Mangurian has consistently denied the diagnoses of concussions," the letter stated. "There are several players who will speak to the fact that Mangurian told them to return to practice, that they are faking their concussions, and that they are being soft if they sit out for their concussion injury."

Quote"You are terrible [expletive] people," Mangurian allegedly told his players after [the team's 42-7 loss to Albany]—the expletive had been edited out in the copy sent to Spectator by Jake Novak, 'CC 92 and editor of the blog CULions. "The world would be a better place without you."

"Cornell! You lost to fucking CORNELL. Do you know how hard that is?", he probably also said.

Yeah, but nobody objected when he probably said that.  Because, I mean, he was ("would have been"?) right.

"Columbia teams have built a new winning tradition* across our men's and women's sports"

* "Winning tradition" refers to attempting to win at least one game per season.  Can include victories over Division II, III, high school, junior high school, and elementary school teams.  May not include all sports.  Tradition does not mean this will happen over multiple seasons, or even more than once in a lifetime.  Significant exclusions and exceptions may apply.

They haven't lost a hockey game in years.
