These kids were very talented. Probably deserved a W.
Hopefully this was just opening game jitters for us.
On to Carleton! LGR!!!
::banana::
I thought an overall solid performance against one of the better U-18 teams in recent years. Really liked Fiegl's game, and he and along with Teemu and Dias were a very effective line. Dias really seemed to have elevated his game, and I think he'll put up a few points and will be a key man on the penalty kill.
While the Bardreau line is clearly our #1 line, I think we'll have reasonable balance throughout the lineup which should help avoid prolonged scoring droughts.
Defense was solid, which was encouraging in Willcox's absence. Ryan looked every bit the senior who knows this is his team to run. Wedman struggled a bit, but he's clearly got size and ability.
Perhaps most encouraging was Gilliam's play. Good positioning, excellent post-to-post save on the 2-on-1 in the second period, calm demeanor. He does have the habit of looking behind him when he's got the puck in his pads, which is a bit unnerving. Tonight Stewart gets his shot to show what he's got, but Gilliam certainly made his case to be "the guy."
In the CHN boxscore (http://www.collegehockeystats.net/1415/boxes/mcoru181.o24), it shows our 3rd goal as "COR 3-2 6x6 GW LL"
What does LL stand for? I've been watching hockey a long time, but can't figure that one out.

Last Lead, I believe.
Rauter is shown as an extra forward but I have no memory of him out there.

Alex Rauter dressed for the USNDTP game, but he didn't take a shift. He did, however, take a regular shift with Matt Buckles and Jeff Kubiak against Carelton University. Jake Weidner played with his classmates on Friday night, but he replaced Cole Bardreau as the first-line center last night.

How did Rauter look? His midget coach is my son's coach. Nice kid.
What about Sade?

The website's getting better, too. The organization of material is starting to look a little familiar... ;)

He's a smooth operator.
Let's hope so..........yes, I get the reference. Hockey input preferred. I've heard he's quite a physical player.
