Douglas Murray might be getting a call from Brendan Shanahan after receiving a match penalty for this head-shot on a Tampa Bay defenseman: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=V8kLHfu-GSY

Riley Nash scored his 10th goal of the season in Carolina's 4-1 win over Dallas.

I noticed today that Gotovets has signed a ATO with the Milwaukee Admirals (AHL) on Wednesday.

Although Higgs (RPI) won the Senior Class Award, Iles was a First Team All-american Senior Class Award winner. (http://cornellbigred.com/news/2014/4/10/MICE_0410142202.aspx)

Douglas Murray celebrated his first game back after a 3-game suspension by getting ejected for another bad hit:

Various sources say Douglas is not expected to receive any supplemental discipline for the latest hit.

And I already hated the Bruins to begin with.

Good luck Brian.

Yes yes, everyone hates the Bruins, who are the only team that has ever put a hit against anyone else. ::wank:: You do know Milbury and friends don't play for the Bruins anymore, right?

Fair enough. And here I was about to counter your "Bruins are all goons" with a Rupp reference, because of your midco.net tag. :) (Personally, I think 4 games is high for that hit (but I'm going to stop myself here, because thread drift bad)).

It could have gone much worse.  I pretty much picked all the best teams when I was 5 and stuck with them (except the Mets), so I'm a Pens fan.  I could get into goonery, but we're pretty goony as well.  The Rupp hit looked pretty bad, but I only saw one replay of it.

I wasn't aware the rest of the country knew where Midco was.

Nobody's hated the Bruins for their violence since the 70's.  Now people hate them for their fans.

If I could root for Nieuwy on the Devils I can root for Ferlin on the Bs.  Hope he makes it fast, sticks, and really puts on a show.

Yeah, I can't really argue there. Boston fans do kinda suck, on balance. I don't mind the homerism or stupidity (show me a large fan base that doesn't have those elements), but the fair-weatherness gets to me.

Jack Edwards is an acquired taste I guess.  I did enjoy listening to him shred Phil Kessel last week though.

My favorite moment of his was when some player (I forget who) blocked a slap shot from Chara up close. Edwards started talking about how it's better to block shots close, because they accelerate after they leave the stick. Brickley (the color commentator) said something to the effect of, "I'm not sure if physicists would agree with you on that."

It obviously doesn't accelerate, but I tell players to get closer to the shot because then it hits your pads, instead of your face.

BTW - Edwards is atrocious.

This is off topic, but not worthy of a new thread, but hey, they are all alumni of at least one team, and they were pros ;-). I ask forgiveness from the moderators.

I'm moving and going through stuff and trying to purge items from my life. I came across ~ 60 NHL Pro Set hockey cards from the early 1990's (1992, the Whale was still in Hartford, and Quebec still had a hockey team). There was a note on the bag indicating that I was supposed to send them to my brother. Oops.

However, I was wondering if anyone here collected hockey cards and would want them. They are in good shape (been sealed in a plastic bag for the past 22 years). Send me a PM if you are interested.  Rita

Watching Dallas at home, down 3-2 in the series to Anaheim, choke away a 4-2 lead, give up a pair of extra-attacker goals in the waning minutes and then lose early in overtime ... well, it brings back memories. Hockey, lacrosse, you name it.
