Title: MSG
Post by: ACM on October 22, 2013, 08:12:03 PM
Unfortunately, the Garden is no longer exclusively "our" barn when it comes to college hockey: http://www.thegarden.com/events/2014/january/rivalry-on-ice.html.

I'm sure they will sell literally DOZENS of tickets for that one.

Maybe not Josh.  USCHO says that game will be televised on NBCSN.

I have a feeling that the Yale vs. Harvard game will be MSG's quietest yet. Most of the people who will be attending are NYC natives looking for something to do.

Could be popular. Unlike the Yale Club, MSG doesn't require a necktie.

I thought lacrosse was more their style.

Squash.  Because wrecking the global economy isn't a varsity sport.

When I saw a post by ACM about MSG, I was hoping to read "I'll be doing the PA announcing at MSG this year..."

One of the things I miss about only seeing away games since graduating is ACM's announcing. So please ask nicely if they'll let you? Plus you get to ham it up a *little* bit with:

"Good eveniiiiing hockey fans. Welcome to Madison Square Garden- The Most Famous Arena in The World. In tonight's out of conference... (and so on)"

Didn't the regular BU guy get to do the first MSG game?  I seem to remember hearing the distinctive announcement of the "Let's Play Hawckey!" guy as well as introducing the coaches "For Cornell...a-Mike a-Schaefahhh. For BU...a-Jack a-Pahkahhh"

Not the natives of which I speak.

Yale has supported its team pretty well the few years (they are reigning champs) but having been to Lynah East, I'm pretty sure 3/4 of Harvard's students don't even realize their school has a hockey team! Of course there's a lot of alums in the NYC area for both schools, but if this game sells more than 10,000 tickets I'll be shocked

If you set 10K as the number, I'll take the under.  The game is nonconference, after all.
