Scoring summary will be on the initial post above.
UMass scored 2 goals in :10 to tie UNH in the HE SF, 7 minutes to go.
Audio is intermittent at best. Video totally bites :-(
Free RPI broadcast is perfect.
Al, can you post the URL to the RPI audio?
Tom, just click the "Free Netcasts" link on the left near the top of the forum navigation bar.
RPI broadcast is here:
http://www.wrpi.org/realaudio/index.html
I couldn't get the high-speed connection to work, despite a cable modem. The slow-speed works fine.
UHN advances, 5-4.
OK, now I have both Cornell and RPI audio simultaneously in my headphone. Weird...
Post Edited (03-14-03 19:32)
The 12 kb/s connection works fine for me, Tom.
This may be the same as Al's, but the .ram itself is at
http://wrpi.rpi.edu/wrpi.ram
Also, @$&!)(@$&~!:-(
Is there no CU audio during intermission?? My luck with the broadcast is on the low side, it seems...
Woot!
:-D :-) ;-)
Either Murphy's whistle-happy or we're not being very smart tonight.
Murray (the ref) sucks...but we are playing sloppy. The two weeks off must have had some effect.
FOLKS: Signing off....Going to a reception for Mary Berens, Cornell's director of alumni affairs. Then, off to Asia on Saturday (and will miss Game 2). Good luck team! I will be checking eLynah from Taipei when I land.

Dartmouth 2 Colgate 2 after 2
Gate - Dartmouth tied at 2 after 2. Jessiman with both Dartmouth goals, one a PPG and one a 4x4. Mitchell and Scooter Smith for Gate, both on the PP.
Not sure who the ref is, but he's calling a helluva lot of penalties.
While we're between periods, can someone tell me why people refer to U of New Hampshire as UHN? Is there some "in" joke or reference I don't know about?
Last year at the NCAA regional, there were these 3 female New Hampshire fans that had the UNH in the incorrect order of UHN. They had it for a long time, so thusly, we have made fun of them ever since.
Post Edited (03-14-03 20:37)
Three students at Worcester last year stood chanting at us in *that* order for about 5 minutes. I think we have photo proof someplace.
Post Edited (03-14-03 20:37)
Cornell coming on very strong in the third, Moulson justy misses.
That's too funny. Sorry I missed it. I don't recall them showing it on TV.
Denver 2-0 over Dakota, and Blais has changed his goalie
BU-BC 1-1 in second.
SCORE 3-1!!!!
Score! 7:07 Hornby Goal
Harvard now up 3-1
We're taking too many penalties
Post Edited (03-14-03 20:55)

Is RPI empty netting as yet?
Big save by Lenny on Graham to protect the lead.
5:12 to go, RPI still a few minutes away from an en.
Re: "UHN"
Before John jumps in to explain again, they were sitting right behind us, but they weren't students. They were three rather nice ladies in their thirties. Somehow that made it both funnier and more painful at the same time. We saw no need to correct their spelling :-P
Brown/Yale in OT
Brown-Yale in o.t.
Dartmouth-Gate in o.t.
1:30 to go, Marsters still on the ice.
1 minute to go and Marsters still in.

RPI ices again!!!! 30 seconds to go.
Faceoff in Cornell end, 10 seconds.
Huge pad save and hold by Lenny on Butterwick to save the game!!!! Cornell calls time out with just 5 seconds to go.
Gotta win the faceoff
1.4 seconds to go, faceoff in Cornell end.
Is it over yet?
3-2 final
Did we win yet?
It sounded like Lenny made a few game-saving saves; it will be interesting to hear what people at the game thought.
Good job just taking care of business.
Congratulations to this team for winning their 50th game over the past 2 seasons!
brown wins 4-3.
OSU beats UNO (good for Cornell).
Dartmouth-Colgate going to their second overtime.
He did make alot of good saves. The two goals were probably the best ones shot by opponents at Lynah all year. The first was one was a squeezer between his skate and the post, the other one was according to Adam Wodon, "ripped" I dont think any goalie would have been able to see it. Again, good job on the defensive end.
Truth be told, the first goal was terrible...Lenny did not close his five hole and the puck just slid through ona shot that was traveling at about the speed of a centipede. The second goal was an excellent shot, through a screen, top shelf. But he did save the game with his save in the last 15 seconds on a shot from the point witha glove save and a beut at that. Overall a on/off game for Cornell. The checking line really came out with fire in the second and seemed to carry us for much of the rest of the game. But the beginning and latter part of the game was not Cornell style hockey...to hesitant and poor passing.
Coulda been worse. UAF lost to MSU tonight 11-1.

Dartmouth-Colgate going to their third overtime, the longest game in ECAC history (still 29 minutes short of the NCAA mens record and 45 mins short of the NCAA record).
Found this on Dartmouth's Site:

Cornell ought to consider doing something like this
pigs will fly before cornell does that :-P
Just got home from the game - First YEAH TEAM for winning - Second we had some real good individual play many - but we did seem rusty and slow starting as a team. We did not finish as many opportunities as I thought we could have when we are really sharp... Several shots high or wide on good chances. RPI keeper played very big! and RPi was hustling... Penalties were about even. Although Murrays retaliation slash in front of ref was 'not smart' I'm sure he knew it - he seemed more upset at himself for loosing it for a moment than at the RPi player.
Kudos to S. Haynes for superb work mucking in the corners and behind the net he played HUGE. to the Matt M. - checking line as they really were effective.... Our powerplay except for the 5-3 seemed a bit rusty and they were not moving puck with authority I have seen in some other games. Murray had at least five wristers from point on PP that we just didnt get the bounce or the right tip on several went just by the net.... Give RPI credit for hustle clogging the middle and in general not allowing us to really set up from the point to often.
RPI's first goal was a slightly slow shift change and 2 skaters coming on but not hustling back with RPI player who was breaking in across blue line - plus their horizontal path out across blue line impeded Mark M. who was hustling to get back. A poor ice position by us and the guy goes in and stuffs it slowly thru or under Lenny -
Their second goal on the power play was pretty and Lenny didn't have much of a chance as we had 3 on 3 on the bench boards in our zone and only one of the defenders in middle with 2 RPI playes there - RPi dug it out and quick accurate pass to D-man in high slot and he ripped it upper corner -
Other than above goal our penalty kill was Superb! Baby was a force on the boards and behind the net and on the p. kill!
Here's hoping we pick up the team crispness and the hard skating and tomorrow noght will be ours! GO Big RED!
Theres' no reason to lower ticket prices when you have a sold out building.
Dartmouth-Colgate nearing their 115th minute of play.

Brown's game-winner at Yale came at 19:59 of OT!
it was at 9:40 of the first overtime according to

That would be a less-awful way to lose. USCHO's box must be wrong.
Whew. Now we have to beat them 5-0 on Saturday to complete the regular season recap.
Post Edited (03-15-03 00:21)
I'll settle for 1-0. Just advance, Baby.

He did not "hurt himself," it appeared he wrenched his knee and based on his reaction (the very obvious and to some, a very stupid slashing penalty) thought the RPI player took some liberties along the boards. I wouldn't be surprised if tonight gets more than a little chippy if game get out of reach. Anyway, here's to hoping that Doug is going to be okay.;-)
I'm sure Mike has drilled into his guys that now is not the time to get a DQ.
I actually thought he looked fine after that when he was on the ice, though I didn't notice whether he might've been playing less frequently.
I thought that after the original incident, Doug took it a little easy on his next shift, but after that, he seemed to be perfectly fine. There was one particular rush up ice where I actually thought he was skating faster than ever.
Another quick, and unrelated, side note: Ryan Vesce now has 96 career points.
4-0. That'll do, Red.
