USHR called him a "top prospect" on twitter and said this a while ago:
Mitchell Vanderlaan, F, '96 (Rothesay Netherwood) — If you missed him this weekend you may have to make the trek up to New Brunswick to see this lanky and talented forward. Projects well and is very smooth with the puck on his stick. Is very elusive in traffic. Is a draft pick of the PEI Rockets (QMJHL). Played for Canada Atlantic at the World U17 Hockey Championship last winter.
Mitchell plays for Rothesay Netherwood, a Canadian prep school. Not sure if he's coming for 2013 or 2014.
For those who haven't spent the last half hour looking for information on Mitchell Vanderlaan, this blurb from the Maritime Hockey League team that drafted him (http://www.slammershockey.ca/news.php?ID=700) is the most descriptive.
Territorial
Mitchell Vanderlaan - 1995 - Forward - 5'9, 160 lbs - Rothesay Netherwood School
27 goals and 50 assists in 30 games
Mitchell is from Hanwell, NB and is another gifted offensively player who has has tremendous speed, Mitchell played on a line in Bantam AAA with Noah Zilbert and Spencer Smallman. Together they established high offensive numbers. Mitchell is a tremendous student-athlete and is already attracting interest from NCAA teams
USHR got Vanderlaan's birth year wrong. He was born on April 30, 1995 (http://www.hockeycanada.ca/fr-ca/National-Championships/Men/Canada-Winter-Games/2011/Team-Roster-New-new-brunswick). He also played for Team Atlantic in last year's U17 tournament.
I like the gnats.
Sounds like a fun name to yell after he scores a goal.

Nice!
Vanderlaan isn't nearly as musical as Sancimino! but it's not bad.

It's actually a much better name for opposing fans (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQXFF_dEcdk).

If he went to Princeton he'd use mom's name, too, something like Glockner-Zoellner-Vanderlaan and a linemate would be levied for jersey space for the printing.
I'm don't like emoticons but I wish there was a smiley face or frown face (maybe just thumbs up / down) to tell me if this New Recruit thread is New Recruit or New Recruit Bolts (Again). Maybe a dunce cap for the guy without the grades, three dollar signs for the recruit who took an athletic scholarship elsewhere.
