nothing being tape delayed today, right?
Union/RPI underway
along w/ cct/uvm and bu/providence
BU up 2-0
no ECAC scores yet
Bowling Green shocking Ferris 2-0 early.
does the BG/FSU game have any effects on us?
RPI-Union knotted at zero after one period.
I think every game in Division I affects us in some way, shape, or form. It's just some affect us in that first decimal place of the RPI, others maybe in the 4th or 5th.
Indirectly. If Ferris keeps winning, they'll probably finish in at least the top 8, and they could line up as being the #2 seed in whatever region we wind up in (as opposed to a Hockey East team like BC...). The permutations are many, but in general, I'd consider it a good thing if as many Hockey East teams get supplanted as possible. Of course, Ferris State's having an unbelievable year, so maybe I should be careful what I wish for.
ZD
As they are the current #8 in PWR, it probably would be insurance for us to have Ferris State lose. Anything that keeps the current #5+ teams knocked down in RPI can help Cornell hold onto a #1 regional seed.
Here's the current TUC bubble of RPI:
.5156 Minn-Duluth
.5151 Miami
.5077 UAF
.5076 Lowell
---------------------------
.4998 UAH
.4982 Wisconsin
.4958 UNO
.4938 Brown
.4906 Northeastern
Without looking at the individual schedules, my guess is that it would help us for the HE and WCHA teams to wind up under .500 (depriving their conference peers of valuable wins), though there may have been a couple upsets in there.

Ferris has come back to tie BGSU 2-2 after 1.
BU leads Providence 2-0 after 1.
Princeton-Brown and RPI-Union 0-0 after 1.
SLU 1 Colgate 0 and Vermont-Clarkson 0-0 last heard (in the 1st).

Union 1 RPI 0 early in the second.
and Colgate 2 SLU 1, Brown 0 Princeton 0

Except for the fact that we're rooting against Providence, which means rooting *for* Denver, so I would like to see Wisconsin get back as a TUC to give Denver a boost . Since we're not really directly competeing with any WCHA teams, it shouldn't hurt us directly.
Clarkson 1 Vermont 0 in the 2nd.
RPI ties it up with Union 1-1, late in the second.
End 2nd...
Brown 0 Princeton 0
Union 1 RPI 1
Clarkson 1 UVM 1
and I'm assuming it's still Colgate 2 SLU 1
also still BU 2, PC 0 after 2
Current RPIs of ECAC teams (ECAC seed in parens)
.5926 Cornell (1)
.5503 Harvard (2)
.5237 Dartmouth (3)
.5175 Yale (4)
--------------------------
.4938 Brown (5)
.4758 Clarkson (7)
.4741 Colgate (8)
.4715 Vermont (10)
.4701 Union (6)
.4556 St. Lawrence (9)
.4498 RPI (11)
.4089 Princeton (12)
So, although the best case would be if all the home teams won and we would play Colgate, the next best case would be if we played Vermont -- particularly if Vermont swept Clarkson. What we would need then is:
Brown beats Princeton
Union beats RPI
Vermont upsets Clarkson
Colgate-SLU doesn't matter.

Providence radio announcers are quite aware that a loss probably means they're done. 2-0 BU, heading into the third period.
UVM goes up 2-1 on Clarkson.
Wow, all the ECAC teams' defenses are stepping it up this weekend! Lets hope to see more of that next weekend!
Cats 3 Knights 1, 3rd
Cats 4 Knights 1, 3rd
BU 4 Prov 0 13 min. left Union scores leading 2-1
Union 2 RPI 1 PPG....and Union going on what sounds like another PP

Brown 2 Princeton 0, 3rd
Short hander for RPI 2-2
Barr on the shg. Go Union!!!!
Unbelieveable ditto play 3-2 RPI
2:34 to go, RPI leads 3-2. Bad for Cornell.
Ladies and Gentlemen: Next week's opponent; RPI :-D
RPI goal disallowed, then Union tons of chances in the final minute but RPI wins. Cornell will play RPI (Princeton lost).
Brown advances (will play Yale)
RPI advances (will play Cornell)
Vermont advances (will play Harvard)
Colgate and SLU are in OT (winner of the series will play Dartmouth)
Next week:
Cornell plays RPI
Harvard plays Vermont
Dartmouth plays SLU/Colgate winner (currently in OT)
Yale plays Brown
Ciao Friars BU 7-1
SLU-Colgate still in overtime. Both sides tentative.
WOAH....Harvard (sucks!) now tied for #14 in PWR with Providence...but slightly ahead on the basis of RPI. Not sure what games this includes from this evening though.
and Colgate beats SLU 3-2 in OT. Game 3 for them tomorrow. Winner plays Dartmouth next week.
(question - they don't reseed after the quarterfinal round, do they?)
'gate scores in OT for 3-2 final
game on tomorrow.
BC-Merrimack tied at 1. I assume we are rooting for Merrimack?
definitely rooting for Merrimack. So many reasons...
BC scores with 18 seconds to go, 2-1.
BC eliminates Merrimack.
NoDak destroying Wisco, 5-zip.
Answering Avash - yes, the teams are reseeded again after the QFs.
