I've received word from the ECAC coordinator's office in regards to seating arrangements for the ECAC tourney. The first seeded team will get sections 106 & 107 for their fans. See www.pepsiarena.com/siteimages/hockey.gif for a seating chart.
Knowing that, we could try and find seats next to them for those of us who want to buy now. How close is anyones guess, since I couldn't talk to anyone at Pepsi, and my local ticketmaster said they wont know till this comming Monday. Any interest?
As a disclaimer, I did not talk to the ECAC person myself, so we need to confirm if anyone wants to buy their seats now.
Not that it does anyone else (except Princeton) any good, the complete arrangements are:
Seed 1 Sec. 106-107
Seed 2 Sec. 102-103
Seed 3 Sec. 117-118
Seed 4 Sec. 122-123

When I ordered my tickets from the Pepsi Arena box office last week, the lady on the phone asked me where I wanted my tickets. I asked if she knew where Cornell would be if they make it, and she said 106 and 107. I asked her for tickets there and she said "sure, no problem"...we'll see what I get in the mail.
Chris
Thanks for the conformation. An ordering I will go.
Hmm - I didn't even think to ask about the "Cornell section" when I ordered tickets, cause I figured they wouldn't know about sections yet. I guess they must have guessed that only a Cornell fan would fly in from Ft. Worth, though, because I'm in 107 P11. Whoo-hoo! See you there! I'll be the guy standing and cheering for Cornell.....
hmm, they didnt ask me when i ordered my tickets either. maybe i should call them. i wonder if there is an event today -> open ticket office.
oh, i could email them. sweet. hopefully they didnt send them out yesterday!
of course i could always move to where the other fans will be
dear, hockey gods, ignore the woofing above, whether intended or not, we all know that the games next week have yet to be decided, ye puck gods :-)
ok so 106, 107 are full already. but my tix were sent out yesterday anyway. ;-) LGR!
yes, when i ordered my tickets awhile ago, they automatically gave be section 106. i guess they assumed we were gonna get in as seed #1.
cool
A group of five of us are in section 124 but will hopefully be moving over to join the Faithful. We'll take it as it somes....

Damn, I guess I am too late to get Cornell sections.
Lets make sure nobody picks on our band this time, ok? We were there last year and saw some Harvard guys come over to the band, and then they proceeded to taunt them. We were up on the balcony at the time, and shouted obscenities at the Harvard students as they walked away, but they blatantly ignored us. If it happens again, I insist people take action, whatever the disrespectful school may be.
Was anybody at the bar when we almost got into a fight with Clarkson hockey players last year at Lake Placid?

Dude, sporting rivalries and animosities are supposed to be fun. When it gets to the point of fighting, you're taking it too far. Let's not turn into real hooligans, okay?
Yeah, its all in good fun unless no one gets hurt, I guess. In any case, we should protect the band geeks.
See you at the game.
This is my cue to step in and defend band geeks and ask you to not call them that, I guess... :-)
Okay, so I got my tickets yesterday, and apparently the response of "sure, no problem" to my request for tickets in the Cornell section actually meant "I'll just give him tickets on the opposite side of the rink", i.e. section 125. ::rolleyes:: Oh well...
Chris
They just know that the entire arena is going to be a Cornell section.
I just called Ticket Master (I HATE ticket master BTW, nothing like paying a user fee for the assiest service you can find ANYWHERE).
They said all of the lower deck is sold out. I find that a little hard to believe given that the arena is bigger than Lake Placid and Harvard / Yale / Dartmouth don't bring that many fans.
Plus they didn't let me choose my section. I call bullshit, and I'll buy them at the door.
The lower deck might be 'sold out' in the sense of "reserved for the schools and not yet returned." But I am going to buy at the door also.
If Cornell makes it to Albany, obviously they'll be the highest seed. Does that put them in the first game or second game on Friday? (And why Fri-Sat? Sat-Sun would be so much easier to get to.)
First game Friday - 3:30 pm.

The #1 seed plays the early game (3:30 EST).

Finish by Sat so NCAA seeding can be annnounced Sunday afternoon....?
Those guys at the ECAC really need to get their feces together, because I got my information from another page on their site - http://hockey.ecac.com/Page_for_Men/championship/quickfacts - that it made sense to get the information from at the time, and it claims the #2 vs. #3 game is the early one.
Luckily, I remember which people I've told already, so I can tell them the correct information.
And perhaps not surprisingly, the ECAC website doesn't have any "Contact Us" link, at least not one I can readily find.
Edit: The page at http://hockey.ecac.com/Page_for_Men/aboutecac/aboutecac.html does have an e-mail link, and I've fired one away.

Is there any reason to trust one ECAC page over another?
No, but when USCHO, NESN, YES, and Cornell agree with the more recent ECAC page, it's a pretty strong sign. It's just very irresponsible of the ECAC not to correct the old page (or to leave it up and prominently linked) in the first place).
