I know there was another thread on speculation for this happening...but since it looks like its confirmed I thought I'd start something new (I hope its confirmed at least...the image looks real but what I'm reading online still refers to rumors/leaks so it could be an eager ELynah fan with an affinity for photo shop!)
If this is fully confirmed...awesome!

Hockeychick470 who is up in Ithaca right now for Reunion sent me a picture from the Cornell Store where they've got official advertising going on. My only question now is when do the tickets go on sale?
Just happened to check The Garden website (http://www.thegarden.com/events/2012/november/the-frozen-apple-cornell-vs--michigan.html):
QuoteThe presale begins on Friday, June 22nd at 10am and Sunday, June 24th at 10pm. Get the best seats before they go on sale to the public.

How does a presale begin twice? (Was the word "ends" edited out or left out of the original?)

I copied and pasted it from the website directly. It has still the same ambiguous phrasing with two "beginning" dates and times. I assume with June 22nd's time during the morning and June 24th's time at night, that the former is the beginning of the presale timeframe and the latter the end.

So there were posters all over campus for Reunion weekend. The MSG website has information. Anyone else notice what's missing? I haven't seen any official announcement/press release/website mention from Cornell Athletics at all.

Are you implying that when the schedule comes out soon, the Michigan won't be on it, and all these promotional materials will just be quietly swept under the bed? A big build up for nothing? I guess I could see that happening, but I doubt it.

Not really. I'm suggesting that the Athletics Department is being very slow or lazy with announcements and promotion. I would like to think that they would want to be in control of a definitive "Hey everyone, it's ON! Here are the details." announcement before posters silently just appear at Reunion events. It wasn't like this for any of the Red Hot Hockey BU games.

There have been no announcements from Michigan either. The contracts had not been signed as of one and a half weeks ago if one believes Michigan hockey sources. Michigan promised that Berenson would issue a statement when the game becomes finalized. That has not occurred either. I know that with Red Hot Hockey, I would have bought my ticket by this point. It seems like there has been failures of administrative decisions and promotion. However, legally the latter might not be able to be enacted until the former matters of contractual issues are resolved. Either way, it seems like events are transpiring to endanger the success of this even-year game at The Garden experiment.

Rich, I got an answer. I just emailed the ticket office and they responded promptly.
QuoteAaron,
Tickets will be made available to the public starting Monday Morning at 10am. You can order online at www.cornellbigredtickets.com or in person at the Athletic Ticket Office in Bartels Hall. Thank you for your interest in Cornell Athletics.
Sincerely,
Bryan Campbell
Assistant Director of Athletic Ticketing
Cornell University
Info with a seating diagram was posted on Cornellbigred.com today.
VIP - $99
Lower Level Premium - $72
Mid Level/Center Ice Upper - $57
400 Level - $29
400 Level Cornell Students - $18
But the prices and diagram doesn't match up. The diagram gives the impression that the $57 seats are back of the 100 level and center of the $200 level. And that the $29/$18 purples are also on the 200 level. Diagram leaves off the 300 level.

I just got this in an email from Cornthletics...
Frozen Apple Presale
After three wildly successful sold-out games at Madison Square Garden in 2007, 2009 and 2011, Cornell University's Meakem-Smith Director of Athletics and Physical Education Andy Noel will soon announce that the men's ice hockey team will return to the "World's Most Famous Arena" for the Frozen Apple against the University of Michigan. The game is set for November 24, 2012 at 8 p.m. in a non-conference NCAA Division I match-up of perennial powers.
As a loyal Big Red fan, you have the opportunity to purchase tickets to this game early in an exclusive pre-sale! Tickets for Cornellians may be purchased in-person at the Cornell Athletic Ticket Office in Bartels Hall or online at: CornellBigRedTickets.com starting at:
10:00am on Wednesday, June 20th.
Note: some Cornell classes and clubs may purchase blocks of tickets for resale to members. If you think your class/club may have a block of tickets and you would prefer to sit with that group, contact a class/club officer before purchasing individual tickets through the Athletic Ticket Office.
Tickets are not available by phone, but questions may be addressed by email to: athletictickets@cornell.edu.
Both Cornell and Michigan have proud college hockey traditions with significant ties to each other in both the immediate and distant past. The all-time series is tied, 3-3-1, with the last clash coming in the NCAA Midwest Regional semifinals this past March 23. Top-seeded Michigan scored first, only to see the Big Red rally to take a 2-1 lead on a shorthanded goal from defenseman Joakim Ryan. The Wolverines tied the game with 4:01 left in the third period on Kevin Lynch's goal, but the Big Red won the game 3:35 into overtime on a rebound goal from Rodger Craig.
The next meeting at MSG promises to bring just as much excitement!
Get your tickets starting Wednesday, June 20th at 10:00am and GO BIG RED!
Ok, when you buy the tickets, it's more clear what you are buying (the diagram is accurate, the sections listed on the initial ad are not, at least for the presale).

Jeez. VIP seats sold out at 10:10. Best I could do was section 104-105 rows 3-14. Hope I get an upper row at least.

Let's hope that this is a good indication about attendance. Considering the Tech Campus in New York City, I think it would make sense to make a game at The Garden an annual event.

At 10:30 the most they were offering in 106-107 was 2 seats together. I got 8 seats in Lower Level Sec 119-120 (rows 3-14).
Looks like game will be the same day as Flyers/Rangers at the Garden.

I got mine on Saturday. Supposedly, Michigan fans have been buying up some in our section(s) and they find it amusing that their ticket prices are cheaper than ours.
Attic find 2012.
Weren't those The Ugliest Uniforms In Cornell History? The ones with the wierd logo with the bottom of the C exteding as an underline under the rest of the ornell? Last time I was in the mens' locker room about a year and a half ago they had one of those hanging up. God knows why.
I still treasure a Christmas ornament with that uniform I bought at a church craft fair in the mid-70s. It's a Cornell hockey player whose head is a ping pong ball and whose body is made with pieces of an egg carton glued together, holding a hockey stick. The uniform is red and white of course, with that funky C with the long underline. This is a beloved object, happily hung on the tree every year. I can't hate the uniform.
Stop complaining!! It could be ALOT worse.
Has anyone else besides Jim and Aaron gotten their tickets mailed to them yet? Just wondering if I should be concerned that no envelope has appeared in my mailbox yet.
I received mine last week as well.

I ordered from Cornell and got mine last week.
Mine appeared in the mailbox last Saturday (June 30).
I had ordered 8 tickets and they came four in each of two adjacent rows, with the same four seat numbers.

Worth noting that they did the same with my 9-ticket order without me having to request it. (Which is nice of them, because I would've requested it if it'd occurred to me.)
So Red Berenson's around for another 3 years. (http://www.annarbor.com/sports/michigan-and-hockey-coach-red-berenson-agree-to-a-three-year-contract-extension/)

This is a neutral site game. I assume that Schafer's usual rule about reciprocity still applies, meaning that we won't go to Ann Arbor unless they agree to come to Ithaca.

We could duke it out at Joe Louis but I doubt the crowd would be anything like it will be in NYC.

Well, the new Fetisov arena only holds 5500, and would be more Lynah-like than either NHL arena. We could get that place rocking.

Although I do like that on the return trip it only takes an hour and a half to get from Moscow to New York. ::rolleyes::

I know. You'd have to be an idiot to take that route instead of driving from Ithaca to JFK. I was posting for lulz.
JFK -> VVO still arrives two days later but the flight doesn't leave until the evening and costs $500 less.
In a USCHO article on defenseman Merrill returning, (http://www.uscho.com/2012/07/30/merrill-to-return-to-michigan-berenson-says-its-the-right-thing-for-big-defenseman/) coach Berenson is quoted as saying his most recent contract will be his last, meaning he will coach for another 4 years then retire.
