At the time, Corson seemed bland and perhaps unspirited. He had nothing of the flair of his successors who looked and talked like Oxford dons. Corson turned out to be the right person to help Cornell begin the healing process from the 1960s. Some might say Corson did for Cornell what Gerald Ford did for America in the wake of Richard Nixon. Without Corson then, we might not be where we are today. R.I.P.
It is also a reminder that there is still no Cornellium.
