Title: ECAC Final Seedings
Post by: ZooeyDog on March 01, 2003, 09:35:45 PM
According to the most awesome and excellent TBRW?:

1 Cornell
2 Harvard
3 Dartmouth
4 Yale
5 Brown
6 Union
7 Clarkson
8 Colgate
9 St. Lawrence
10 Vermont
11 RPI
12 Princeton

Meaning, first round affairs:

Princeton at Brown
RPI at Union
Vermont at Clarkson
St. Lawrence at Colgate

This means we play winner of SLU(t) and Colgate(tm) right?

We play the lowest remaining seed. If all the other faves win, we get SLU/Colgate.

I'll toss this on here as an end of the regular season fact...

Conference Pts (39) - Conference GA (29) = 10!!!

not only that, but

Conference Pts (39) - OVERALL GA (39) = 0!!!

In addition, in case your wondering, of the teams we could end up facing in the quarters (Colgate -> Princeton), Colgate has the highest RPIStr by a decent margain. So, RPI-wise at least, we'd like to play them.

When was the last time the top five seeds at the end of the season were Ivies?

John Stead asks:

[Q]When was the last time the top five seeds at the end of the season were Ivies?[/Q]

Prior to this year, the Ivies had never held the top four seeds in the tournament.  They had the top three in 85/86 (Harvard, Yale, Cornell).

Just having Clarkson out of the top 5 alone is a rare event.

Extenuating circumstances this year, I regret to say, for Clarkson.

Let's hope the situation gets resolved soon.  The ECAC needs its perennial national contenders strong.
