Cornell twitter says the field is being plowed now. Posting on laxpower says game will not be played at 1pm and could not say if it will start later today or postponed. Stay tuned.
The game has been postponed, per this tweet (https://twitter.com/#!/CornellSports/status/173453143244410880) from the Athletics Dept.

Wasn't this game usually played on slope day (before the ivy league conference lax tourney was created), when it was the students getting plowed and not the field ;-).
While I was looking forward to the season finally getting underway, it would be a travesty to have played in such adverse conditions
Hobart poster on laxpower says they may play tomorrow.
Baldo on laxpower says it's "official:" 1pm Sunday the 26th (tomorrow).
By the way, here's the Ithaca Journal (http://www.theithacajournal.com/article/20120224/SPORTS/202240363/Cornell-men-s-lacrosse-team-eager-get-rolling?odyssey=tab%7Ctopnews%7Ctext%7CSports) game preview. "Cornell men's lacrosse team eager to get rolling"
QuotePannell missed the Johns Hopkins scrimmage with what was described as a minor elbow injury, but has since fully recovered and according to DeLuca is "ready to go."

FYP :-}
Latest from Hobart is that the schools couldn't agree on a place to play tomorrow.
They should just play at 4:30 after the 2pm SU v. Army game tomorrow at the Dome ... It'd be a great triple-header SU women play UVA at noon. Sounds like a solid day of early season lax if you ask me ...

QuoteOfficials from both schools will continue to try and find a future date to reschedule the contest, if possible.
.
That was cheap, Rita, but mostly we're jealous you got the line out there first. The new Ivy lax tournament pushed the Hobart game to the other end of the season, IIRC.
Hobart should have swallowed hard and taken it to the Carrier Dome following the Syracuse-Army game today (10-9 Syracuse). Othewise it's going to have to be a midweek game and there already are some midweek games scheduled. The only open midweek date before mid-April is Tuesday 3/13, after the Faceoff Classic vs. Virginia with Yale at Cornell that Saturday, and 3/27 between road games at Penn and Dartmouth. Cornell isn't going to want to play an extra game late in the season.
There actually is a break in the schedule following the Annual Tuesday Syracuse game (14th of April), but whether that game is 'worth playing' from our perspective at that time of the season is questionable.

Hobart has games scheduled April 14 and 17 with Bellarmine and Syracuse.

Whoops. In that case, I guess I would be surprised if we ended up playing this game this season. Once we hit the main portion of our schedule (the 10th vs. UVA), I don't really see the utility in playing Hobart if it's going to mean a mid-week game

Agree.
I would have thought yesterday was the only realistic day the game could have been played, although a two-day turnaround for Binghamton would have been tough.

Maybe it would have been practice for a two-day turnaround in late May.
