In early action, Minn-Duluth tied UND 3-3. Less relevently, QU beat UConn 4-3 at MSG. UND now at 9 in the PWR (not sure if that's a change from last night or not :-) ).
UND 1-6-2 in their last nine. ::help::
Thanks to you guys beating Yale, and Dartmouth's 2-1 win over Union, we clinch 3rd place in the ECAC...wow and I was worried about finishing 5th or 6th.
Now I've got to bite the bullet and change my spring break plane tickets so I can either see the quarters in Thompson or the semis in Albany or both...hmmmm....
Ivies finish 1-5 in the Conference...also very impressive.
Maine winning 4-2 keeps them #2 in PWR.
in the third at CC, MSU-Man scores 3 unanswered to go up 7-6... not sure how much is left
EDIT: just under 12 minutes, this is nuts, we don't give up this many goals in a month
it's now 8-6 Mankato!!
Amazing....if you wanted to listen to the Colorado College hockey game, there is a phone number you can call to listen to it for only 50 cents per minute. Does this makes the whole Cornell deal seem a little better?

Well, the MSU broadcast is free...
9-6 Mavericks with the ENG... this one is about over
Edit: game over!
Could this mean a little change at the top of the polls on Monday? :-P
The CC broadcast is free also (just listened to the end of it).
I don't think CC will drop from the top with a 7-1, 6-9 weekend. But we might get a little closer.
I think CC's still #1 come Monday, but I think it's a hell of a lot closer. CC crushed a good team and then lost to them in a wild game. We barely beat one of the worst teams in the NCAA and then barely held off a quite good Yale squad.
We move closer, but we don't take #1 - that's my prediction.
If you're #1 and you lose, and the #2 team wins, the #1 team drops. That's how it's gone all season, and I think we'll be #1 on Monday, though in an incredibly close poll.
But if we're NOT #1, I won't be too upset because we'll have a lot more than 8 first place votes :-)
I almost hope we are NOT #1. We don't need that target on our backs come the opening of the ECAC playoffs. BTW...did the goalies even show up to play that game? 15 goals in a game does not happen very often....that's a goal every 4 minutes!
Jordan
At the end of the 2nd, UMD is leading the Sioux 2-0. :-)
Hmmm, UND drops to a 4th seed, pushing Providence up to third... we play UND in the first round... that'll be fun ;-).
UND ties it with two quick goals with under 6 minutes left.
The two goals were nine seconds apart! (I think...). 2-2
Make that 3-2 UMD! Wow.
And UMD scores to take back the lead, 3-2 over NoDak.
And UND loses again...
4-8-4 since the start of the year, and they've lost home ice for the WCHA playoffs for now.
Go Sioux!!!
Edit: Actually, they are clinging onto the final home ice spot. I assumed that the top 4 teams got home ice, but later realized that in the WCHA, the top 5 teams are rewarded with home ice.
Alright, I'll stop obsessing about the Sioux after this post, but...
With today's loss, the Sioux fall to #12 in Pairwise. A couple of upsets in any of the conference championships, and well, the all mighty Sioux might have to call it a season.
Ha!
They drop to a tie for 12 with Providence... but Providence wins the head-to-head comparison. The Sioux also certainly have no "big wins", while Providence does, however that may play in...
Gimme a minute and I'll have new brackets, probably on another thread.

Well, now you're just exaggerating.
We gave up 10 goals in January and 10 more in February; CC only gave up 9 last night. Give them some credit. :-D
Unbelievable. From the USCHO Forum:[q]UND has outplayed every team during this streak, other than CC and then 2nd game vs MTU.[/q]They probably still think they should be #1.
Well, duh... It's the ALL MIGHTY FIGHTING SIOUX you're talking about here. They are CLEARLY the #1 team in the Universe. ::rolleyes::

To give credit where credit is due, UND fans were claiming (in December before their meltdown) that it was sacreligious to mention Cornell in the same sentence as their Sioux. How right they were. :-P
---
Now, to appease the woofing gods, I still feel that a matchup with UND would be a dangerous one. They are capable of winning any single game game against any opponent. That being said, I would love to see a 1st round NCAA match-up between Cornell and UND.
I believe having a coach who has been successful in the Frozen Four is a big plus--and the Sioux have that for sure.
