OK. It should now keep track of new messages from the database if you log in and with cookies if you don't. Not terribly well tested, but it seems to work right. All messages will appear as new the first time you log in, but just click Mark All Read and it should get you current. Let me know if there are problems.
Fantastic, the new font for the sigs is great!
For some reason, I actually prefer the new system whereby after you post a new message, the thread pops back up as "New" instead of assuming you've read your own message as it did for the first few weeks. Reminds me comfortingly of the way CHDF did things, too.
Beeeej
As of right now, if you are not logged in, no messages show up as "New" (at least on my computer).
Whoops. It seems the problem is fixed (or never existed). Never mind!
well, I still see nothing as "new", so it definitely exists in my reality
mine too ( nothing is new ..... sounds like a boring converation with my mother .... ;-) )
disclaimer - my mom is VERY cool (she has a glow in the dark blow up man)and I love her lots ( but she seems incapable of hanging up the phone once you get in a conversation)
ok....now that last message showed up new.....weird. disregard Age!
please dont disregard Age, the only thing that shows up new is one's own new post.
Nope, you were right. I fixed the message page. Still have to fix the thread listing.
just testing
OK. NOW it should be working right. ::rolleyes::
it looked good, your post showed up as new to me
I'm still not getting any "new" tags on the main page thread listing, even though there have definitely been new posts since my last visit. I'm using IE version 6 and I am not logged in.
Except for my own post. This thread had a new tag after I posted.
try clicking "Mark All Read" at the bottom of the thread listing page.
Oops. Big old flaw in the thinking organ. Should be working now.
Good job. Thanks.
Just tried to update my profile with a new email address. After clicking on "update profile," a box came back saying "the form contained no data." What's up?
