Post by: abro2007 on January 18, 2012, 01:01:45 AM
Just wanted to pass this onto you folks. Not sure if you are interested in posting....But its a player profile on John Knisley who has committed to the mens hockey program.

Vipers TV caught up with the #12 John Knisley from Pittsford, New York to talk hockey as well as
find out about his committment to Cornell, being a leader on the Vernon Vipers and another round
of Rapid Fire.

Player Profile Video (http://www.hockeytube.net/2012/01/17/cornells-future-forward/)

That was great; thank you for posting it.

I've already forwarded it to my daughter with instructions to marry him.  He seems the very model of a Nice Young Man.

Greg, if you can get your daughter to follow any of your instructions, more power to you!  I've been giving my daughter instructions for over 16 years, and then next time she follows one will be the first time :-D

Heisenberg lists a new recruit, Alex Rauter RW from Choate, for you guys.   I also noticed on the same line that former Cornell recruit Steve Miller is now heading to Canisius.....what happened to him?

Cheers!

Alex Rauter was a part of the North Jersey Avalanche until last year (not the "New Jersey" Avalanche as reported in some cases).  My kids all play AAA hockey in the same program.  Though my kids are younger, we've seen Alex play a few games.  He's an absolute sniper and Cornell is lucky to have him.

Dan May's North Jersey Avalanche U16 National team is nationally competitive year in and year out, they've done well in the USA Hockey national tournament.

Alex played with Jason Stephanik (committed to Quinnipiac), Jarrid Privitera (committed to BU) and Brett Pesce (committed to UNH).

Yet our new friend Alex was the leading scorer:  North Jersey Avalanche U16 National 2010-11 (http://www.atlantichockey.org/team_information.php?teamid=1216) ;-)

Joakim Ryan played for the New Jersey Devils AAA youth program which is part of the same league (Atlantic Youth).

You got him? Shit.

He was smart enough not to follow his brother to Sucks. (That's RPI's Sucks, not Cornell's Sucks.)

Zalewski had a pretty good game on Sunday http://www.bchl.ca/leagues/hockey_boxscores.cfm?clientID=1413&leagueID=2393&gameID=977767&link=bchl. I wonder how many people left after the empty net goal, :-D From an RPI fan's viewpoint, however, the rest of the forwards for next fall seem pretty mediocre.

There's also a video of him doing Stupid Kid Things (tm) with his buds (bike tricks, whatever) floating about.  Kid's got more hockey exposure than Elisha Cuthbert.

from 8 months back:
Quote from: Sat. 6/25/11  USHR NewsHere are our top five prospects from the Liberty Bell Games, which took place at the Flyers Skate Zone in Voorhees, NJ the weekend before last:
 . . .
-- 6'1", 170 lb. LW Alex Rauter, a 6/17/94 birth date who played for the North Jersey Avalanche Under-16 Team last winter, stood out for his pure scoring ability. Rauter, who will be heading to Choate as a junior this fall, has a quick release, can pick the corners, and understands how to get in position. Princeton, RPI, and Notre Dame are all said to be keeping an eye on him.

I heard from the parent of a Choate teammate that Rauter separated his shoulder and will be on the sidelines for a bit.

I also saw a tweet the other day from Big Red Puckhead that he scored two goals and had three assists in a game this past week -- Rauter seems to have a real scoring touch.

If the injury report is accurate, best wishes on his recovery.
