Title: Men's Basketball 60 #24 Illinois 64
Post by: Ben on December 19, 2011, 07:58:36 PM
The game is on ESPN3.com for those of you who have access to that fine service. Audio is on Redcast.

Miles Asafo-Adjei is apparently unwell and will not start (lower leg infection (https://twitter.com/#!/BDelaney_1160/status/148921577545805825) -- sounds nasty); Ivy League co-Rookie of the Week Galal Cancer replaces him. To the chatroom!

Ah tough ending, cant complain with the effort though, an extra 3 here or there or some better FT shooting may have gotten us this game. Hopefully they can build on this game unlike last year at Minn and win 2 of the next 4

Chat format is much better than forum for timely postings and interaction.

We were effectively 6 for 13 from the line because Wrobo missed the front end of two one-and-ones. Losing because of bad FT shooting is really frustrating, particularly when we played so well on the defensive side.

They have been a terrible free throw shooting team all year long, there is no excuse for it.

I doubt that excuses have anything to do with it. They are apparently "bad" at shooting free throws. It is a thing that some people are better at than others. Shaq wasn't bad at shooting free throws because he didn't care or didn't practice. It just wasn't a thing he was good at.

SU had a string of years with bad free throw shooters, then boom, suddenly they got a bunch that could shoot. Everyone used to complain about coaching, practice, etc., and obviously they were right since it got better.::rolleyes::
