Solid effort with some good chances that we couldn't convert. Iles looks calm and confident in net. I thought the Axell line was excellent.
It would be nice to start getting some more pucks in the net, but we'll take the W any day.
We moved the puck extremely well for a one-goal game. A lot of that was simply bad luck. But we also got a couple very lucky bounces on the other side.
Nice warm orange (http://www.tbrw.info/weekly_Updates/cornell_Warmth_ECAC.html) again. :)

Northeastern won 9-2 at Notre Dame tonight. Notre Dame's goaltenders had 9 saves.
BU leading 4-1 in the third at BC. BC outshot them in the second period 23-1.

I thought so too. They were the best line all game long.

Dias was impressive. Was Jillson scratched for him? I didn't see Jillson or Craig all game.

Dias and Mihalek skated on the Axell line. DeSwardt replaced Jillson on the Bardreau line.

Alright that's what I thought happened.
They're not the greatest, but here are some short videos from the game:
D'Agostino's goal (and subsequent chants) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3obQTmOhWVE)
The hit on Whitney that earned the 5 min major (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HGlCJiA-pN8)
Cymbal Guy (somebody tell me the name of the song) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vj1Jc1QwMkI)

Aaah I'm so happy to hear they still play España!! the song f-ing rocks the barn
Don't complain, they're good. It obviously would have been nice to get a little closer on the goal, but that hit on Whitney is shown quite well. It was hard to see how vicious it was from the other end of the rink. And then being that close to the band was nice. Again much better than what I saw from the other end of the rink. Keep up the good work.

I could be wrong because I don't have the greatest ear for music, but I think it's actually called "Espana Cani."
This is "Espana Cani": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5rb6PsF8vU
It kind of has the same cymbal part (except the cymbals aren't as loud) at about 35 seconds in.
This is "Espana": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A40kg-RD-SA
But again, I could be totally wrong because other than the cymbal part, Espana Cani doesn't really sound like what the band played.

Well, if the Band calls it "Espana" then that's probably what it is. I really didn't think either version I found online sounded like what was played at the game.

I wasn't there last night, but back in the late 90s I bought this CD (http://www.amazon.com/Ole-Don-Vincente-His-Orchestra/dp/B000001VLW), and the first and last song on the album is "España Cañi", which is the same tune that was called "#7" on the pep band's Live at Lynah CD.
Here's a paragraph from today's Boston Globe regarding the BU-BC game:
"Just 33 seconds later, it appeared BC had another goal. Freshman left wing Johnny Gaudreau threw the puck into the crease from outside the right post, but during the scramble in front, the officials said there was an intent to blow the whistle after they apparently lost sight of the puck, even though it appeared it was never tied up. It was ruled no goal."
The whistle gods continue to smile upon BU.

While we've veered into a band discussion (kinda), at MSG the band played ... something off of Paradise Theater (AD 1928? Rockin' the Paradise? As we've discussed, I am old.) How long has that been in the repertoire? Is there a team-related reference that I'm missing?

Since roughly fall 2001 I want to say. It came in back in my day. I don't think it was in reference to anything in particular.
