Title: NCAA Lax scores
Post by: scoop85 on May 14, 2011, 02:51:34 PM
JHU blitzed Hofstra in the second half and won going away, 12-5.

Penn has that deer in the headlights look -- losing to ND 4-0 with 6:00 left in the first.

Seem to be settling in a bit better, now 8-5 with 2 minutes in the second. Sounds like Penn's band made the trip to South Bend...

Was there a basketball game being played there as well?

10-5 ND after three. It sounds to me like both teams' fight songs are being piped in over the PA.

I'm pretty sure there should at least be coverage on espn3.com.  Hopefully they start it on ESPNews or ESPN Classic at least also.  Preferably ESPNews since it's in HD.

I don't think there is any scheduled ESPN3 coverage unfortunately.

News good.  Classic OK.  3, not so much with cablevision.

Lightning-shortened game best.

If you go to the main page on espn3.com, our game is listed on the "Featured Events" on the bottom right.  Just sucks for those with Cablevision.  Glad I switched to Verizon.

Didn't the Delaware coach say in the TO that if his team won it clean he would call timeout right away?
Title: Cornell Hartford

Redcast broadcast pretty synchronous with the espn broadcast. Can hear both commentaries and action fits.

Even though it would delay the Cornell coverage, I was yelling TIMEOUT at the TV as soon as the refs signaled possession.

You don't have to be in the box to call TO, do you?

Maryland becomes the first unseeded team to win in the first round, defeating UNC 13-6. That game included an execution of the "hidden-ball trick" for a goal by Maryland that completely fooled the ESPN cameramen, as well as the Tar Heels' defense.

After a weather delay, they're underway in Charlottesville; late in the first quarter, Bucknell leads Virginia 4-1. Updates here. (http://games.insidelacrosse.com/game/ingame/5810/2011-05-15/bucknell-bison--virginia-cavaliers)

At halftime, Villanova leads Denver 7-5.

now tied after Bucknell takes a bad shot and Stanwick comes back to score.  1:45 left.  It would be a shame if Bucknell loses, as they have been the better team between the lines.

UVA wins it.  we get them next Saturday. Although I was pulling for Bucknell, I don't necessarily think they would have been an "easier" opponent for us.

Agree, but I always prefer a "northern" team advancing.  Bucknell's lack of big game experience did them in.

Shit!  Bucknell is supposed to be smart guys. Jack Emmer said so. Two meathead plays: 1) with a little less than 3 min on the clock and a 3 goal lead, Bucknell tries to score into a 10-man ride empty net from about 70 yards away.  This with an open midfielder available for a running clear that takes time off the clock. UVA clears and scores. Then, 2) they take a hurried shot with little pressure that Ghitleman easily saves, clears, and UVA scores again,::flipd::

I still think we match up well with UVA but I would rather Bucknell won.  I'm sure Rhamel Bratton's indefinite suspension will end tomorrow.  But won't be announced until Friday.::cuss::

I'm with you on that.  Both teams would have provided a strong opponent, but UVA's pedigree and obvious skill will surely be a concern.

UVA-Denver is another barn burner.   But I don't see either of these teams giving Hopkins much of a game.

So who in He$$ do I cheer for in JHU vs. DU? JHU's got a "nice" coach, but I just can't seem to do it. DU's got a jerk for a coach, so? If we win next week, I can't see that either would be any easier for us, maybe DU, since we'd be in JHU's backyard.::scream::

Bucknell = Bemidji State minus the spelling hassles.
