So, does anyone know exactly what happened to Dougy during Friday's game? Hope all is well, would hate for him to miss the coup de gras of his career.
check the recap - http://uscho.com/recaps/20022003/m/02/21/rpi-cor.php
The relevant line:
[Q]Cornell defenseman Doug Murray was injured late in the second period, and did not return to the ice for the final 20 minutes. The injury was not considered serious, and he is expected to play Saturday against Union.[/Q]

*giggle*
Sorry to pick on you for this, but this particularly tickled me. Coup de grace is an idiom for "crowning moment" - coup de gras means "fat blow." ::nut::
Beeeej
Well, I suppose he could celebrate his "crowning moment" with a bit of foie gras. ::screwy::
Yeah, but the best line of the article is[Q]The only exception was Sam Paolini, who briefly skated to the corner of Lynah Rink to retrieve the puck, then came back to give it to the sophomore standout goalie.[/Q] Class act.
The amazing thing is, Sam really does in fact seem to be a class act. Ninety percent of the time the whole "athlete giving back to his community" is resume building, AD-hyped bullcrap, but in Sam's case (and with his history) it's the real thing. A good guy.

I wouldn't saint him yet ::nut::
To be fair, boobs were a discovery up until the 70's, when they became an invention...
It's that time of year, when the playoffs approach and when information about injuries becomes top secret.
It's also the law. You have to very careful about giving out any information regarding a student, including health information.

And you would know this from the west coast how?
Not to be a dick but frankly only Sammy knows if Sammy is sincere. His family and teammate probably have a pretty good clue too. But from where I sit in fandom, I can think highly of Sam, and hope he is the real thing but I can't say for sure.

Beer was #2 and boobs were only #4? Silly sammy.
Yeah. I remember during a college football game this past season the announcers said the sideline reporters had to be really careful about divulging injury information on air because of some new laws.
Well John, only you know if you're being a dick or not...
Come on. We can all look at the sum of the evidence and decide. In Sam's case there are a lot of things that point to him being sincere. Do we know this? No. But we can say it's more likely than if Alan Iverson were doing public service messages about hard work and staying in school, foir example.
Murray sits out tonight, but did come out dressed for the post-game Senior night ceremonies.
Down boy! Possibly because I know plenty of people on campus who tell me. Possibly because it's just a nice thing to say, and by contributing to the general store of good Karma in the world I'm singlehandedly saving.... the.... entire.... world!
Thanks, Greg.
Don't mention it. When we've all achieved a transcendant state of joy, cut me a check.

But really, once you've achieved a transcendant state of joy, why would you need it? :-P
More importantly, by adding such a base motive, all of the karma value is gone. THANKS, GREG. :-(
Nobody gets my jokes. I dunno, maybe it's me...
