At this point in the season, the week cannot pass quickly enough, no. :-)

Subject: web cam -- GOOD NEWS!
Hello!
After many discussions with several people, we are going to run a free hockey cam this weekend for both games -- Sorry for the late notice, but things went from "no go" to "yes" just this afternoon. CIT wouldn't allow us to do it on Cornell servers, as they were concerned about high traffic volume and server overload. However, Mark Anbinder has gone above and beyond to find a host for us, and has secured the services of eCornell (thank you John Wolf and Matt Willis!!) for the weekend.
We want to give parents and friends the heads up if they want to tune in. They will have to have Quicktime software installed to watch the broadcast. You can download Quicktime for free at: http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/
(Note: I've also been told that there is no need to pay to upgrade to QuickTime Pro, no matter how many times Apple's little ads pop up. The Pro version gives you some suped-up options, but isn't necessary for the broadcasts, the basic version should work just fine.)
We recommend installing QuickTime and testing it before the broadcast, as that gives you time to work out any problems.
Quicktime supports both Mac and Windows formats.
Once you have that ready to go, you can log into the game using this link:
http://magazine.14850.com/hockeycam.html
Or you can open the file directly in QuickTime Player (which will also let you increase the size of the image) after you have installed with this link:
rtsp://quicktime.ecornell.com/hockeycam.sdp
Please note that we may experience some technical problems while we get this up and running this weekend, but believe things should go pretty well. This is the first step (a baby one) in our attempts to get web cam features tied into our online broadcasting coverage. Given CIT's fear of running this off of University server space (thanks again to eCornell for being so kind to help out this one weekend only) we are still looking at the subscription service for next year, once we get some of the technical parts worked out.

It works right now if you put the link directly into the Quicktime player. Also, IT HAS SYNCHED AUDIO! The video quality is poor right now...
A power outage in Collegetown has killed the connection to the downtown web server hosting the link. Visiting a dark Chariot was entertaining, too.

GOAL 1-0 !!!!
I will be tracking the box on the top post (since I hafta update it after each goal anyway).
Are you doing just goals or penalties too?
Just goals.
Is there a way to get the Cornell audio without the picture? I'm on dialup tonight.
Well, I downloaded (finally) QT6.0 and installed the software. For the first time this season, I can hear Adam's radio broadcast (intermittenly, somewhat)! But the visual keeps breaking up. Oh well, better than having nothing at all. Thanks, Greg, the live stats and your changing header are probably what will keep me posted reliably this afternoon.
(Boy, it is hard to concentrate at work now that the game is ON :-)) )
Anyone else having problems with the RPI audio feed? I am trying, but the server seems to be overloaded.

When did the "Yeah, Baby, Yeah", become "Kill Baby Kill" followed by something about Hornby? I guess less than a year is too long to have been away from Cornell hockey. Oh and what do they say about Hornby? I vaguely recall this being on a post somewhere before.
Kind of odd that no one has commented on the CU goal at the end of the period, except for the box update. LGR!

Hynes scores off a great feed by Paolini in the final minute. Shots were 11-4 Cornell in the first period.
When I heard it at Brown, it was "Yeah, Baby, yeah! Do I make you Hornby?" Don't know about "Kill, Baby, kill"...
ETA: My QT frame just got smaller. ::help:: Not that it matters during intermission.
ETA2: Well, I went back to the RPI feed. The skaters are now ant-sized, and Adam's much-preferable feed cuts out every time the video does. Which is all the time. Still, it was a decent gesture.
My QT frame is all #$%&* and the audio is barely there :`( Oh, wait, Adam's voice is back....Now he is fading.... ::help::
Well, I can't get the RPI feed to work, and I can't install QT on this computer (work machine), and so I'm basically without audio for the night....bummer...the RPI feed is one of the few that isn't blocked by the firewall.

I suppose we should be glad they're trying, at long last. One wonders to what we owe this opportunity.
CU on the PP....
The video has improved considerably since the beginning of the game. There are occasional bouts of perfect video, but I'm getting 35% packet loss according to Quicktime.
SCORE! Moulson! 3-0 BIG RED!
GOAL!!!! Moulson on the PP, from Pegoraro and Hynes
5 mins to go in the second with Cornell up 3-0.
GOAL 4-0!
who scored? harvard up 3-1 on dartmouth at the 2nd buzzer. sog dartmouth: 24, sog harvard :25
4-0!!
The Pep Band sounds great, even on the West Coast :-)
It was a goal by Matt McRae.
Through 2 periods RPI has 8 shots. This has to be one of the best defenses in Cornell history in terms of shots allowed per game.
Dartmouth trailing 3-1 to Harvard after 2. If Dartmouth does not win, Cornell clinches at least a share of their 17th Ivy League title.

Engineers kill off the penalty from the beginning of the period, but pick up another right as the first expires.
LGR!
Cornell short-handed.
Kill that penalty!!
LGR!!!
Any more news on Doug? My audio keeps cutting out...Thanks
Looks like Hornby has kept his temper under control....but the ref still gave him something.
CU gets a PP out of the scuffle.
8:40 left in the game.
CU on another PP...4th this period. I have no audio feed, so I'm simply assuming that RPI is getting frustrated...correct?
Frustrated...Frustrated...:-D
LGR!
SCORE!!! PP GOAL!!!! 5-0 Cornell!
McRae!
News on Doug? What the heck happened????
Clock update?
Was that our 3rd PPG tonight? If so, that would be great. Remember, with every PPG a donation is made for the breast cancer prevention charity in Ithaca. LGR!
Check that: I just re-read the summary in Live Stats, and that was only our 2nd PPG. No matter....
Alright CU!!! Please let us keep this intensity for the last 5 minutes!!!
Second ppg (the 3rd and 5th goals). Cornell is 2x8.
Merci, Greg.
LGR! I am not leaving the office until the game is over. :-D
So...I'm worried here...what was that comment about with Murray? Did he get hurt or something?
Less than 1 minute left...the RPI feed is significantly faster.
Yale 3-1 over Clarkson, final.
SLU leading Princeton, 9-3.
At Lynah: 2:10 to go.
1 minute to go.
It's over! Shutout #6 for Lenny!
Aha! So Lenny ties Dryden....bet the crowd at Lynah is going absolutely crazy. #7 tomorrow? :) Of course, a win is a win is a win. So, will someone please tell me what that post about Doug was? Did something happen to him?
A "new law supposed to keep school officials from getting on the internet"? Whatcha talkin' about, guys?
RPI's announcer alluded to not seeing Doug or (a) McRae on the ice, but said that all skaters were accounted for on the bench. Don't know more than that.
Doug did not play at all in the third...stay tuned.
Doug didn't come out for the third. On the radio Adam said he seemed to be walking fine coming out of the locker room.
My guess the whole 3rd was that Schafer was giving him the period off. He's been known to do that in the past.
ARE YOU SURE????!!!!! :-/
According to Adam, Doug was not even on the bench in the 3rd.
If that was directed to me, then no, I'm not sure. Doug was not on the bench.
But I distinctly remember games (although maybe it has simply been exhibitions), where some of the top guys have hit the showers a period early.
Adam mentioned something about Doug going down awkwardly after being hooked at the end of the second period. I hope he didn't play the third as a precaution for something minor.

Adam's story on the game (on USCHO at http://www.uscho.com/recaps/20022003/m/02/21/rpi-cor.php ) is a nice piece.
Edit: hmm. extra paren killed it, huh?

Edit in response to edit :-) - yeah, plus not just that, the sub-directory is ../20022003/.. not just ../2003/.. like Adam put initially
