Title: Prince-ton's do-ing Yo-ga (on The Commons)
Post by: andyw2100 on November 13, 2010, 10:16:28 AM
Apparently the Princeton team is on The Commons, doing yoga in a big circle, as I type this. (First-hand report from my 16 year-old daughter.) She called to ask me what she should do. (How best to reasonably taunt them.) Since she does yoga, I proposed that she get in the middle of the circle and start doing Yoga poses herself. I think it is highly unlikely she will take my advice, but if she does there may be pictures to follow.

Well that's pretty awesome, even if it's Princeton. Yoga is supposed to be a good supplemental exercise for athletes. Hell, I swear by it for my back. Is it warm in Ithaca today cuz I can't imagine doing yoga in the cold.

It is indeed warm (60s) in Ithaca today.  Perhaps we should do yoga post-game to repair our backs after sitting in Section C.

Remote control Yoga?  Strech, stretch, strech.  BEND OVER!

If we're leading:  Yoga won't help!  Yoga won't help!

Throw in the names of a few yoga positions.  "Downward facing dog!"

Cornell looked a little stiff in the first.  Maybe they could have done something pre-game to loosen up? :-P

Sometimes, class does feel like Remote Control Yogi:
breathe in, reach up, breathe out, bend forward from the waist, breathe in look up, breathe out, jump or step back to high plank, breathe in, breathe out, lower down, breathe in, baby cobra or up dog, breathe out, rise into down dog, breathe in, hop or step your feet between your hands, breathe out, breathe in, look up, breathe out, lower back down, breathe in, rise up straight, hands up, breathe out, hands by side.

* Note I bypassed the sanskrit names of poses because I barely know them and I sure as hell wouldn't know how to type them out.
