Does Cornell have any recruits that will likely be taken in the draft?
Nobody is likely to be selected. Brian Ferlin and Mathieu Brisson might be late-round selections. John Esposito and Andy Iles are also eligible for the draft for the first time, but their size has them off the Central Scouting Service's radar.
Perhaps not worth a new thread, but since Andy's name came up here - He's been invited to the National Junior Team Evaluation Camp this summer. If he makes the team, he'll miss the Estero tournament, but it would be a great experience for Andy. Dave LeNeveu missed Estero one season playing for Canada's team in the World Juniors.

Have there been any ECAC players taken?
Edit: Danny Biega (Harvard) taken 67th overall, 3rd round, Carolina.

Joe Faust, taken 114th (4th round) by New Jersey is going to Princeton. Chris Wagner, taken 122nd in the 5th round by Anaheim is headed to Colgate next year. Zach Hyman, taken 123rd by Florida, is headed to Princeton. Kenny Agostino, taken 140th by Pittsburgh, is going to Yale.

Sounds like it is unlikely Faust will attend Princeton: http://blogs.northjersey.com/blogs/fireice/comments/devils_fourth-round_pick_114th_overall_d_joe_faust_bloomington_ushs/
UPDATE: Quote from Lou:
"Defenseman Joe Faust (fourth-round pick) de-committed from Princeton earlier this month. Do you expect him to attend college elsewhere or play junior or somewhere else? (Faust said he would look for a WCHA college closer to his Minnesota home).
'He's going to make a decision, but I believe he will be going to college.'"
Would guess it ends up being UMD, St Cloud, Mankato, or Bemidji, but that's just a guess (or list of the D1 schools in Minnesota other than the Gophers).
Hmmm, he wants to play closer to home...Isn't Ithaca closer to Minnesota than Princeton?;-)
Let's see - UMD, St Cloud, Mankato, or Bemidji versus Princeton. Hmmm, what a tough choice. What's wrong with these kids nowadays?

No, he wasn't
FWIW, the first season since 1998 (http://www.tbrw.info/players/cornell_NHL_Draft.html) no Cornellian or future Cornellian was taken. 26 were taken in those 11 intervening drafts.

That's true for today, but how can you tell who might be a future Cornellian?::whistle::

True, but have we ever had a guy commit after he was drafted?

I think Jim was speaking in a broader sense.

Yes, I was being stupid. Obviously, nobody can be sure who might eventually go to cCornell.
FWIW, USA Today has an article (http://www.usatoday.com/sports/hockey/columnist/bourne/2010-06-28-drafts-pros-and-cons_N.htm) written by former NYI prospect Justin Bourne on the pros and cons of being drafted.

Ken Dryden, for one.
I'm not sure about Dan Glover, but he was drafted a year prior to enrollment.
We've had a few others drafted a year earlier than enrollment, such as Greening, D'Agostino and Gotovets - but I think all of those were already destined for Cornell.
Correct me if I'm wrong, Iles and Cole were eligible. The balance are eligible for next years draft.
Watertown Daily Times (http://www.watertowndailytimes.com/article/20100629/SPORTS03/306299949/-1/sports) article, via ECAC site, on Islanders picking Clarkson's third string goalie in the 7
th round.
Quote from: Snow's reason:Rosen, who is 5-foot-11, 180 pounds, was selected by Snow because the Islanders GM saw many similarities to his own beginnings.
Like Rosen, Snow was a third-string goalie early in his college career at Maine. But he went on to help the Black Bears to a national title in the 1992-93 season, as the team finished 42-1-2.

And he turned out to be a crappy NHL goalie whose best skill was slashing. So, uh, good luck with that.

Party on, Garth.
Devils draft pick Joe Faust who committed and decommitted to Princeton and was discussed earlier in this thread decided to attend Wisconsin next season.
http://blogs.northjersey.com/blogs/fireice/comments/devils_draft_pick_joe_faust_headed_to_u._wisconsin_in_fall/
Ice time shouldn't be at a big premium in Madison next year. Wisconsin has lost a few great players from last year's NCAA-runner-up team.
Yes, Wisconsin did lose some players late to the NHL. However, it is interesting, Wisconsin went after Dartmouth recruit, Lindblad. Seems that the Badgers like to go after Ivy recruits that don't sign LOI's.
