Sorry for the off-topic post, but I figured some Faithful might know the answer to this question. I'm going to be setting the world record in a few weeks as the youngest woman to run a marathon in all 50 states, and am trying to pick a song for the race officials to play as I cross the finish line. I thought it would be really fantastic to have them play the Gonna Fly Now/Gary Glitter mix, but the only recording I can find is from Live at Lynah and it's not very good quality (duh, it's live). Does anyone know if there's a better quality recording of this that might be suitable?
I figured that you would have been inundated with replies by now, even in the off season. But since you are not then I'll take a shot.
If you really are a young woman and your young age is the focus of the celebration (and this is not a prank) then you should probably stay away from anything having to do with Garry Glitter. Look it up. ::pop::

Just because he's a jerk doesn't mean she shouldn't play the song.

No, but it means that lots of people will find irony in the selection of Garry Glitter and that could detract from her celebration.
To answer the question, the second rendition of the Pep Band CD, Voices of the Faithful may have a better quality recording. Someone involved in the production of the CD and better versed than I in copyright issues could possibly get you the file.

When she posted this, I listened to both on my iTunes and I think it is better. However both are live and have the Lynah crowd sing-a-long. I actually think they are fine for what's wanted, but if looking for just instrumental, this isn't it.
In regards to Gary Glitter's problems, the song is played often enough that I hardly think there is a social taboo to using it.

You still hear a lot of Michael Jackson being played.

That'll end when I'm voted king.

By the time that trial is over pretty much everybody in Britain will have been arrested.
