Our last-second loss to Syracuse vaulted Cornell up 2 spots to #8 this week in the USILA poll while Syracuse took over first from Virginia after its loss to Duke - Syracuse and Virginia split first place votes. Hopkins remains in the top 20 despite a 5-6 record. What are the odds the voters would be so kind to Cornell with that record? This week Cornell hosts HM Brown. Princeton is at HM Harvard. Then Cornell at Princeton May 1. If Cornell wins both, it hosts the first Ivy playoffs.

I suspect Drexel's loss to Towson and Georgetown's loss to Loyola are what moved Cornell up.
In case you missed this comment in the Laxpower Forum poll:
"Big Red needs a new timekeeper with a quicker thumb. No way Cornell gets that shot off in the Dome. Big Red still climbs. (Strannywastheman)"
I've seen all of these teams in person or on TV/computer and we're probably ranked about right in spite of not playing real well clearing and ball handling. I think we're better than Loyola and Villanova, not quite as good as Georgetown. I'd swap Georgetown's spot for Loyola's, in spite of the result of their game on Saturday.
What does it matter? We know Hopkins will get seeded no matter how well we play. ::whistle::
