Title: Lacrosse @ Penn
Post by: Jacob '06 on March 27, 2010, 01:05:50 PM
Apparently the radio broadcast was cancelled. According to Penn's livestats we are up 2-0 3 minutes into the game.

In other news, UVA is beating JHU 13-5 in the 4th Quarter.JHU looks like shit; I've been watching since it was 10-5 and I've yet to see them with possession. It could be that it is just Virginia making them look like shit (I've heard Virginia can do that ::whistle::) but, man... Hopkins looks awful.

See what happens when Hopkins hires a coach from the mid-majors rather than go for the real deal?

9-6 is a comfortable margin in the fourth quarter, right?

Not with our sometimes suspect goaltending! After last night's hockey debacle, we need a win in something!

2:00 to play. This is the team that had a, what, 5- or 6-goal lean on Princeton last week and lost in OT?

Laxpower has the Penn write up on the game - LaxPower Forum (http://network.laxpower.com/laxforum/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=39484)

Sounds (reads) like it was a good performance by Cornell against at team that Princeton needed OT to beat.

More interestingly, Princeton only beat Yale 7-6.  Maybe we're better than we think we are?  Either that or Princeton has underachieved two games in a row?

We need [edit adding subject to sentence: Princeton] to underperform minus-2 goals from their current standard after back-to-back one goal wins over Penn and Yale.

Sorry, Bill.  I need a translation for that one.

Didn't think it deserved a separate thread, but here's a tidbit on an incoming lax recruit from a Laxpower board:

San Ramon Valley High over Saint Ignatius 10-8.
The score was 10-5 beginning of the 4th, and SRV held on to beat SI first time since 2005.

Cornell bound Ross Rudow clearly was the dominant player, this game, outplaying Virginia bound Rob Emery.
Rudow had probably 3 goals and 2 assists, but also was the dominant force with his ability to clear and keep SRV settled in their offense.

Emery is one gifted player with great footspeed, a hard quick shot and great stickwork. But I think Rudow outplayed him here. At the next level, its hard to say. Emery probably has more tools..

I'd complain about teams failing to finish off upsets but I know that would only lead to a one-goal loss to Dartmouth after a furious rally to tie. Karma being a bitch and all.

If it were literally a bitch wouldn't that then be some type of dogma? So therefore, the answer is Yes. QED.

What you said.  Dartmouth wins. crap, now we pretty much need to sweep H, P and B to get the plaoffs in Ithaca.
