Too good to pass up.
Who else is going?
Was at both games in Jacksonville, best days of my life, cannot wait to go to Syracuse
Looks like the Carrier Dome has a policy that all people, regardless of age, require a ticket. Paying $74 for a 17-month old might be the dealbreaker for me. Shame.

You'd also have to bring your 17-month-old to a game that starts at 10pm. (Not sure if that was covered elsewhere.)

For some reason, that part doesn't bother me as much. It does bother my wife a bit. Maybe we'll just stick to hockey.
Is anyone else leaving from Ithaca, I dont have a car and need a ride to get there?
Me +1 at least, if not more. Driving from NYC. Have space in my car if anyone needs a lift. Will continue from there to Albany for hockey on Friday. Itinerary after that depends on what happens on the court and on the ice, but will stay as long as the teams do.
Bought my ticket last night. I'll be there.
Donna and Al. Fingers still crossed for Syracuse, too.
Is this thread for the hockey regional or the basketball regional? Basketball, I assume, since it's in Other Sports?
Basketball. There's a separate roll call on the Hockey forum.

How could it be about hockey? Hockey never gets to play in the East Regional!
(Oh wait...)

You could have said that about Basketball in the last 40 years.

yeah, but basketball fans (and coaches) didn't spend the last 40 years whining and complaining about being sent to a different regional. (
But we had good reason to complain! Yeah, but it was still whining.)
reposting this from the basketball forum from former basketball player Khaliq Gant:
Hey Everyone,
I'm Khaliq Gant, a proud alumni of Cornell Basketball and I was reaching out because Jason Battle, Conor Mullen and I are trying to organize a bus up to Syracuse for the game. We are having trouble filling the bus to capacity and I figured this would be a good place to reach out to. The cost per person if we fill it would be $40 and it would leave Penn Station around 330 PM and would return right after the game so those who need to make it to work the next day it can. Please reach out via this board or my email kjg27@cornell.edu or Jason Battle's (jasonbattle12@gmail.com) I apologize to those who aren't in NYC but please spread the word as we want to fill the gym and have a full and excited student/alumni section. We are looking for 25-30 more people.
Go Red!
Nice Khaliq! I am forwarding this to some NY friends of mine that I think might be very interested.
Roll call wise, I will be there, driving from DC!
That's great that they're trying to get a bus trip together, but 3:30 seems a bit late to be departing the city. Leaves little room for error.
Game starts at 10. Can't imagine it taking more than 6 1/2 hours to get to Syracuse...
Have people gotten tickets through Cornell ticket office?
Quote from: RobinHave people gotten tickets through Cornell ticket office?
We've heard nothing from them as of right now.

Ditto. Though I expect only "winners" to hear anything.
On Wednesday single session tickets will be available for $74 since there are more than 9000 tickets available, so much for Kentucky buying up all the tickets

Looks like single session tickets go on sale here http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/000042A18E956903?artistid=1239566&majorcatid=10004&minorcatid=7 at 10am Wednesday.

Is there any chance anyone has received an e-mail saying they were not selected?
anyone get the link to work?

Thanks to everyone for their help. After a busy day, we have the bus full and have a waiting list of people who would like to get on the bus. Have to admire the Big Red spirit.
Go Big Red!

Cornell oughtta give Khaliq a bus. Wasn't it his hospital stay where Jeff Foote's mom worked that got Foote thinking about Cornell? We've heard the Louis Dale-couldn't-find-a-home story a couple times (not bored of it yet) but this is an important piece of the puzzle, too.
Two (three?) years ago when Marist made the NCAAs in women's hoops, the school chartered and subsidized a plane for however many students fit.
Yeah Khaliq's hospital stay got Foote to come here. You are right they should have a bus going from Ithaca and one from NYC but my guess is they are just so overloaded with all of the media requests and tickets requests they havent had the time.

I did not win the Cornell ticket lottery. I just purchased my ticket by calling 1-800-867-2233. This is the Syracuse Ticketmaster phone number. For $80, I received a ticket in section 104. Online, Ticketmaster was offering me section 303. Therefore, I recommend calling to purchase tickets.
Does anyone know which sections are the Cornell sections?
if you only want thurs games you can get section 200 seats for $74 thats better than a 100 level.
I'm in the 300 level, but I expect enough people from the first game will leave at 10 PM to free up a bunch of seats in the lower levels.
Quote from: upperdeckif you only want thurs games you can get section 200 seats for $74 thats better than a 100 level.
My sales agent refused to rerun the search for other sections. Oh well!
A bus from NYC could be the province of alumni affairs. But they also dropped something like a dozen bodies last year to make budget and alumni affairs wasn't overstaffed vs. its peers. Stanford was reported to have cut more AA jobs in its rightsizing than Cornell has, total, in alumni affairs.
I did it all online thru ticketmaster. great seats
Just got 113 row U thru ticketmaster.
Now trying to move my Albany flight up one day (unfortunately speaking with someone in a call center in India who doesn't have a clue how to do that).
Also in 113 row U through ticketmaster. See you there Jeff!
Khaliq says they are looking for ten more people for a second bus from NYC
Sometimes they pretend to be Jared who has a sister Buffy. They know enough to BS you superficially. But ask them, "So, Jared, what are you doing Thanksgiving?"

What are you implying, I am simply reposting what Khaliq put on the basketball forum since I know not everyone here reads that forum.
Is there really no one willing to car pool from Ithaca to Syracuse for the game tomorrow, I am willing to pay $50?
Quote from: phillysportsfanKhaliq says they are looking for ten more people for a second bus from NYC
fyi this bus has filled up, and there is a second bus leaving from the cornell club (last email i saw it had 8 seats remaining.
i'll be there +1, need to find tickets now.

Did you try craigslist?

Tell me about it. It's been a headache dealing with all of the moving bodies and policy changes. But I keep on reminding myself that it is all the more reason to help Cornell.
Yeah looked at on craiglist, nothing there, was finally able to find someone I knew to carpool with.
If anything the only students at this game will be the diehards, willing to cut their spring break early to see the game
I'm on for hoops Thursday, hockey Friday, let's see about Saturday and wouldn't it be great to have to choose?
I've posted my last slam dunk about Kentucky (unless something else really good surfaces) and from here on it, it's up to the players.
For tonight, I'm getting this Charge of the Light Brigade feeling. I had the same feeling before we faced off against Virginia last May. But let's give it the old college - no pouches of cash - college try. LGR!
