Amazing job, too.  Outplayed for most of the first period, but they really made the most of their chances, rolling up a 5-0 lead and burying a good Harvard team.

Give Cornell an A+ for effort. Give Harvard ... nah, it's been said before.

This is incredible because the success in sports at Cornell have been more on the men's side.

Impressive. Very impressive. And next year Rebecca Johnston is back. This year isn't over and I'm already looking forward to 2010-11.

Less from the Boston Globe (but not much on the men's team either):
>>>
Women
Cornell 6, Harvard 2 — Amanda Mazzotta had 34 saves and the Big Red (20-8-6), who put just 12 shots on net, received goals from six players in eliminating the Crimson in an NCAA Tournament quarterfinal game at Bright Center. Harvard (20-8-5), which trailed, 5-0, halfway through the second period, had goals from Randi Griffin and Leanna Coskren.

The Mercyhurst v. BU game is on B2 TV for FREE (though you do have to register a user ID)!

www.b2livetv.com

I just tuned in and it is the first intermission and haven't heard a score update yet.

2-0 Mercyhurst according to NC$$ Live Stats (http://www.ncaasports.com).

4-1 Mercyhurst FINAL

Jackie Parker influences BU ladies.. BU pulls goalie to create a 6-3, but they don't score on the 6v3, but do get one while skating 6 v. 4 to make it 3-1.

Lakers come right back, like in 10 seconds, to get the 3 goal lead back.

Cornell will play Mercyhurst in one semi-final game.

=====

I think the UMD-UNH game should be underway now. If I find a link I'll post it. Also found out that the women's team from my undergrad alma mater, Trinity College, is playing at Elmira for a berth into the DIII FF. Go Bantams!

UNH @ UMD also on B2 (http://www.b2livetv.com), and for FREE!

UNH 1 @ UMD 2 FINAL.

TEch needs to score. Goofers 3 v. Clarkson 2 FINAL in OT.

Well into the 2nd, and Clarkson just had an apparent goal negated on review. The ref said the puck was kicked into the goal. Announcers didnt' think that was the case, but there was a scrum in front of the net. I'm listening to the game, so I can't say one way or the other.

Shortly after the Clarkson non-goal, goofers come back and score. That might be the deciding goal. In the previous 2 games vs. Minnesota this season, Clarkson has been shut out.

Clarkson ties it with 1:45 left in the 3rd.

Minnesota scores 3:09 into the 1st OT period. Bummer.

According to USCHO, the Cornell v. Mercyhurst game is listed at 5 pm CT (6 pm EDT) followed by UMD v. Minnesota.

I haven't seen anything about internet or TV broadcasts yet.

Another reason to root for Brown tonight:  less overlap with the women's game if the men have the early game in Albany.
