Well should be two sellouts to see basketball team have the chance to clinch at least a share of the Ivy title with a sweep. Should be two tough games but if we beat Princeton which we should do now that we are shooting well again, I dont see us underestimating Penn as we should be seeking revenge for that debacle at the Palestra. I guess we could clinch outright if Harvard loses either game and Princeton loses to Columbia.

As an alum from '04 who will be back this weekend and at the hockey games, I'm guessing it's not as simple a matter of going over during intermission and peaking in that it used to be?

Edit: both games are now sold out

I guess Princeton should have an interesting time getting up here with all the snow, I think they left on Thursday

edit: Princeton did make it up here, hopefully the crowd does too

Penn might have a harder time coming up as they've closed Interstate 80 to commercial traffic for at least some time.

So far, I've been successful getting both basketball and hockey to load - and not freeze - in side by side windows. Or is that woofing to the Inernet gods?

Cornell doing the smart thing against Princeton, not hoisting too many three's, sending it inside to Foote.

Not often enough, however.  And not doing well keeping Princeton from second chances.

With 12 min to go, Princeton has 10 offensive rebounds, Cornell 10 defensive rebounds.  Primary reason the game is close.

50-47 final, Cornell.  Shouldn't have to be that close at Newman.

Fortunately, it is good enough. Now on to avenge the loss at The Palestra.

A win is a win especially when Wittman goes 0-4 from the 3, he was terrible tonight. They outshot us 38.3% to 35.1% from the field and we were only 2-9 from the 3. With that kind of offense I will take a win in any way. Free throws were the difference, game ball to Foote for going 7-8 from the free throw line

And thankfully there is no Pairwise in hoops.  Two-game lead with three to play "should" be safe.  Would like to see them ice it before the finale @ Yale though.  Foote and Wittman sb first-team All-Ivy.  Dale second team?

Well with a solid pounding of Penn we clinched a share of the Ivy title, the fans were also smart enough to not storm the court. Now they just need to defeat Brown on Friday for the outright title.

Also all the Coats haters will appreciate this, Coats had about 10-15 Cornell police officers stand right in front of the student section with a minute or two left in the game, blocking the view of those in the first few rows, what a fool! I guess he thought we clinched outright or he had not read the rules about court storming. Plus did he really think 10 police officers could try to stop 2000 people from storming the court if we had clinched outright

They even mentioned it on the Penn radio broadcast.

I'm just relieved no court rushing occurred, despite some pressure from some of the fans to do it.

Same here, there were fans that we had to shout down at the Harvard game since they were chanting "rush the court"
