Yeah, it's early, but last year I signed on to the siouxsports forum (http://forum.siouxsports.com/index.php?&showforum=1) and went back to see what they are saying. Interestingly one of them was at our Harvard game and posted some photos here. (http://siouxbufan.shutterfly.com/26?size=50&startIndex=0)
Their main concern seems to be how much worse they play on Sat. vs. Fri.
Someone who watched the UHN game posted the following on their forum's Cornell game thread:
"I dont know how many of you caught the Cornell/UNH game a couple of weeks ago on ESPNU. Cornell is big, fast, and skilled, Scrivens is a good goaltender, and they have the Nash brothers. We will need an "A" game both nights."
Looks like the Sioux are missing some bodies.

They are well known to the Sioux fans since they hoped (expected) to get to get Riley.
Nice article from the Grand Forks Herald. (http://www.grandforksherald.com/event/article/id/148429/)
::cheer:: Props to UND for showing the "balls" to agree to travel east to play us. Their athletic department should be commended, most "upper tier" programs wouldnt give it a thought to come into Lynah. Now lets go get 2 much needed wins this weekend!!

...after which they'll never come back.

Nice. Too bad they take a "we only want to play top teams at home" stance like so many other Western teams do, but it's great that they're coming to Lynah. Judging by the Ticket Forum, this is one of the most in-demand non-Harvard games in recent years.
I'm hoping some UND fans make the trip. After going to Grand Forks myself last season, I think Lynah and the Ralph are about as opposite as you can get in terms of arenas, and I'd love to see some of them also experience the contrast.
Palace vs. Barn
Marble vs. Wood
Cushy vs. Cramped
Seats vs. Benches
Soaring vs. Stacked
Quiet vs. Loud
Relaxed vs. Frenzied
Gift Store vs. Souvenier Tables
Phil Collins vs. Rocky Theme
BTW, the nickname case drags on: http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/34894748/ns/sports/

Well, I think you need to understand that phrase. It's really completely different than the other schools. What the others do is to play the teams who are just looking for games. Much like the big football teams do for the first few games. They are not looking for the top teams. Get someone, anyone to come so we can sell tickets and make money. ND takes the approach that they want good teams to come and they are willing to go. Much different.
How about the soup bar and carving stations vs. stale pretzels? :-)

Good article. Brad's a friend of mine - but one error, unfortunately - kinda. He says Cornell has been to 3 regional finals in 11 years. It's actually been 5. The only way it's 3 is if you don't include the FF year as one of them, and you don't include 2002, when it wasn't a 'regional final' per se, but was a game vs. UNH for a trip to the FF.
So after an almost 2 month absence from home, it seems like REDCAST is having problems loading. Auuggghhh. Is this a big home sports weekend with Basketball, wrestling etc. all trying to be streamed at the same time?

Same here...just great.

I was about to reply saying I didn't have any trouble, but now the feed's just dropped.
Someone on the USCHO forums says that the wrestling feed is playing the hockey pre-game show. I don't have access to the wrestling feeds to verify this tough.
Feed's on!
Redcast just came on and it's the Time Warner Cable feed.
Did anybody else's feed switch over to wrestling?
Feeds are switched. Wrestling feed showing hockey.
Just logged onto the hockey game and got wrestling!?!

I had that too... log out and log back in before trying again. It worked for me.

Thanks. that worked!
Yeah, it works, but I'm hearing way too much Sioux activity so far.
Very subdued crowd tonite. School not back in? This is a huge weekend!!
Pretty subdued offense, as well, according to what the UND announcers are saying. Do we really have only 2 SOG, as Live Stats is showing?
Yea, we are being dominated pretty badly. Still section A and D only half full. Feels like I'm at princeton, sad to say. MSG had at least 25 times the enthusiasm. A lot of recruits here as well tonite. Not good. At all.
ND is quick, clogs their defensive blue line, seems quicker, and has lots of bodies at center ice. It feels as if they're skating 6 not 5.
But we're clobbering them on faceoffs and Greening was pretty articulate inthe first intermission interview. Let's hope hope we pick up the pace.
And now Joe Devin gets 5:00 for hitting from behind. Ugh!
Score anyone?
None so far
And we kill off the 5:00
Much better period in my mind. Had a lot more jump. Und a VERY talented and fast team. All weekend will be tight.
After 2, 0-0, sounds like Esposito blew an open net....
...and so went our 5:00 opportunity
And on the background chatter preparing for Noel's interview, you could certainly tell what he really cares about. I'll give you a couple of guesses...
M. Devin!
Mike Devin from Kennedy
There's ONE!

We're running out of gas 10:00 into the third. Please get your second wind.
I think this NDak announcer is great. With his voice and energy, he sounds like someone you would have calling the game in a movie. He could definitely call the games in Slapshot.

I once listened to him get into a fight - on air - with someone in the Yale crowd
Then he definitely could have done Slapshot. :-)
1:24 to go. Timeout NoDak
SAVE SCRIVENS AT THE BUZZER! whew. 1-0 final
Hey, Bill, thank goodness Scrivens didn't run out of gas, eh?
Phheeewwwwww!!!!
Wow. Great grind out win. Very tough und team. We seemed to wear them out as the game went on. If rumor has it right they will come out slow tomorrow.
Postgame thread up.
