Cornell back to full strength.
PP coming up
Cornell powerplay coming up.
Another penalty on CC...5x3 pp for 58 seconds.
CC kills the first penalty.
CC kills them both, back to full strength.
Now Nicholls off for tripping.
The Hockey East officiating crew seems very quick on the draw with penalty calls tonight.
cc seems to fall at the least bit of contact lucky we havent had 3-4 more against us
Cornell kills the penalty.
Dryden - undefeated season, ugh.
Well after mentioning Dryden's undefeated season at Cornell, might the CC announcers mention Clarskon's similar feat?:-P

We all thought it.
Two periods in a row now where we take a penalty under a minute in - Joe Devin off for high-sticking.
Testuwide scores on the pp.
2-0 CC
Miller scores on a one-timer from Jillson!
2-1
Now we know what song they pipe in for us.
*sigh* another penalty...Scali for CTH-Roughing.
Cornell back to full strength.
Cornell on a delayed penalty, but the refs are quick to call D'Agostino for interference during the DP, leaving us with 2 mins of 4x4.
Hall scores for CC on the 4x4.
3-1 Tigers
poor footwork by the D on so many plays causing issues.
SOG are currently 20-5 in favor of CC ::cry::
wow, we're being outshot 20-5
did greening/nash/gallaghar even come to the game?
Cornell powerplay coming up.
Quote from: upperdeckdid greening/nash/gallaghar even come to the game?
I sure haven't noticed them.
"If this is the best team in the east, I hope Colorado College gets sent out east." Nice editorial from the play by play guy for CC. ::wank::
Though Cornell isn't doing much to make a case otherwise. :-/
Greening assessed a cross-checking penalty while on the pp...awful call, and not the first in this game.

Well this is a CC broadcast, not ESPN. They have the right to talk about their team.
CC negates their pp with a CTH-elbowing penalty. An abbreviated Cornell pp coming up after some 4x4.

It's all not good (after 2):
Cornell having trouble with a quick team.
Stupid penalties.
Ten bucks to hear homers for the other side.
Camera guy slow to pan.
Did we mention stupid penalties?
Attendance looks very soft - makes you worry if there'll be an 11th annual Florida Hockey Classic.
Outshot 26-8. So that's the bright spot: If we can match CC in shots in the third, we'll win with our 25% scoring efficiency on shots.

Agreed. No place for that sort of idiocy, even on a homer broadcast. Hopefully the Woofing Gods took note.
... and announcers just declared game 1, with 12 goals, OT, and a shootout, to be "slow ... boring."

To be fair to them, we have 8, EIGHT, shots on goal. At this clip maybe we'll at least reach double digits. Also, we're playing hockey like it's 1999. How long before these players and this coach realizes the shove and grab game went out of style a long time ago. The "bad refs" excuse doesn't work when it's EVERY GAME in EVERY BUILDING.
Then again, CC could easily triple our shot output and still lose, and we always own them in the 3rd period, so this is what I think of their announcers ::wank:: ::wank:: ::wank::
This camera man is an idiot. He should get a new job.
Quote from: ScrewBUThe "bad refs" excuse doesn't work when it's EVERY GAME in EVERY BUILDING.
I don't recall anyone blaming the refs for any other poor performances this season.
Some good, sustained offensive pressure from Cornell for the first time in this game.
Sound great all of a sudden.

It is. Last week he handled international air security.
when you are slower across the board, you need to play those teams before you adjust to it.
too bad the PP didnt get a ticket to fl..
Ref calls a goal for CC, but Jason says the puck appeared to bounce off the crossbar and the light never came on.

I'll give you that, the whole joke is the team that can't seem to play a clean game because the "refs are against them" or that struggles to hit double digits in shots, but he is really, really awful.

What's with all the pent-up rage? You catch Scrivens on top of your girl or something?
We're a terribly overrated hockey team. Forget frozen four; I'm not sure if they can make the Albany four.
Another game with too late on the wake up call.
That's a final.
4-2...a piss-poor performance overall.
Well, you're never as good as you look when you win, and you're never as bad as you look when you're outshot 3:1. Maybe. :-(
Bad games happen in every season except 1970. Regroup; win tomorrow.

He's just abysmal, and no one seems to want to admit it. For a team that prides itself on goaltenders he is the biggest bust I've ever seen. And yet people defend him based on stats where he's facing 20-25 shots a game, if we can keep our sorry asses out of the box.) He's just not good. At all. If people just said "meh" about him then whatever, but people seriously think he's one of the league's better goaltenders?
I was there at MSG, and that shortie he gave up against BU was one of the worst goals I've ever seen a goalie give up. The BU player wasn't trying to score, he wasn't square to the net, he was just throwing it on goal trying to kill time. Scrivens tries some shoulder-butt, misses, and then pointlessly flops behind himself trying to stop it from going in. It's just pathetic.
And maybe I can't tell from the crappy video feed, but on tonight's goal it did not look like he had any idea what happened. When not only the shooter, but the OFFICIAL, pick things up quicker than you, maybe goaltending is not your forte.
EDIT: It would be easy to pick on him for the power play goals, but he seems to give up a lot of 4x4 goals also. Whenever we're not at full strength and can't get the other team off the puck, whenever they have time or space, they WILL score against him. All of his stats rely on 5x5 push and shove, and to be honest anything with a pulse would look good in that situation, but that's the only situation anyone seems willing to evaluate him in.
Quote from: imafrshmnWe're a terribly overrated hockey team. Forget frozen four; I'm not sure if they can make the Albany four.
Hard to say how good this team is or where they should be rated. Currently 0-3 vs teams in the top 9; 0-0-1 against 10-20; 1-0-0 against teams also receiving votes. Until they beat someone in the top 10 they have no business being ranked that high.

That is certainly true on the initial shot, but almost all the time the goalie will eventually look back, or curse, or break his stick, or something. He has no tell. Since he obviously won't make it any further as a goaltender maybe he should sharpen up his poker skills :)
Edit: nhl.com has videos of every single goal scored this season, and since you watch so much hockey you shouldn't have a problem pointing out a goal where the puck goes in and out of the net and the goalie is still staring straight ahead.
I'm no longer going to feed the trolls.
