We were playing without two starters but still, probably not. I have to say, though, the game never really felt in doubt.
LaSalle is a very aggressive but undisciplined team. They commit a lot of turnovers and play really sloppy defense trying to force turnovers and get steals. When it didn't work - most of the game - Cornell was able to patiently set up shots and knock them down. When it did, they scored points in bunches. They went on a 10-0 run to start the second half (cutting the lead from 11 to 1) but it stopped working and Cornell was leading by 9 fairly quickly. There was a mini-flurry near the end of the game and LaSalle was able to cut it to two again, but Cornell hit most of their free throws and put the game out of reach.
It wasn't as good as the team will play this year but it was a good win over a decent team.
Hopefully Dale's and Tyler's injuries aren't bad enough to keep them out for a long time.
Ithaca journal article said today to expect both Dale,Tyler to be back by 1/2 Bryant game
As a warmup for #1 Kansas, Cornell blew out D-III Penn St. Erie and barely D-I (now 0-14) Bryant. That should get the guys ready.
Kansas playing at Temple on ESPN2 now (5:30pm EST Saturday 1/2).

And Kansas lays a 32 point ass-whipping on them in Philly. Oy.
And now 5-10 Binghamton knocks off LaSalle, 66-61.
Yeah I dont think any of the teams we played all year will make the tournament except for Syracuse as Seton Hall just had another close loss against Virginia Tech

A close loss against Virginia Tech is hardly the death knell for a program. Alabama will probably make the tournament also.
Seton Hall has not proven they can survive in a close game against a good team which doesnt give them much of a chance in the Big East. Their free throw percentage is terrible and they live and die by Hazell's shooting. You shut Hazell down, you win.

They are 9-4. They have lost to three top 20 teams (Syracuse, WV and Temple) and Virginia Tech. I'll grant that none of their wins (Cornell excepted...) are impressive but four single-digit losses to very good teams isn't a sign that Seton Hall sucks. There is plenty of opportunity for Seton Hall to pick up 17 or 18 wins by the end of the season.
I dont think Seton Hall sucks, they are a good team, they just not have shown themselves to be a tournament team in the Big East. VT is the kind of team they need to beat. Maybe they can make the tournament but is 17/18 wins going to be enough? they will also need a decent run in the Big East tournament.
