As Ben Scrivens starts his senior year, it's worth noting that if he has a season anything like his last two, he will wind up holding a number of fairly significant Cornell goaltending records. Consider the following (stats compiled from http://www.tbrw.info and http://collegehockeystats.net):
Games Played in Goal: Currently 102, by David McKee (2003-06)
Scrivens is at 83
Games Started: 102 – David McKee
Scrivens: 79
Consecutive Games Started: 102 – David McKee
Scrivens: 70 (the last game Scrivens didn't start was the second game of the 2007-08 season, against Princeton)
Minutes Played: 6193:26 – David McKee
Scrivens: 4691:34
Saves: 2462 – Jason Elliott (1994-98)
Scrivens: 1978 (he had 883 as a sophomore and 871 last year)
Shutouts: 18 – David McKee
Scrivens: 12 (including 7 last season)
Wins: 78 – Ken Dryden (1966-69)
Scrivens: 44 (OK, this one's out of reach, but given that Scrivens had 19 wins as a sophomore and 22 last year, you have to think he's got a decent shot at the second-place total of 65, held by David McKee)
Ties: 13 – David McKee
Scrivens: 9
And I guess I have to mention this one too...
Losses: 39 – John Detwiler (1957-60)
Scrivens: 28
It's also worth noting that, among Cornell goaltenders with ten or more appearances, Scrivens' current career save percentage of 0.928 is two points better than McKee's 0.926 and trails only Ken Dryden (0.939) and David LeNeveu (0.938). This despite Scrivens' facing an average of 27.25 shots per game, more than any of the other three faced (McKee 23.11, Dryden 26.20, LeNeveu 20.96). Scrivens' current career GAA of 1.96 trails only McKee (1.71), Dryden (1.59) and LeNeveu (1.29) as well.

Scrivens could get to 81 wins. What, you don't think we'll go 37-0-0 this year? Oh ye of little faith. :-D
Updating... Scrivens should break a couple of these marks this weekend. As mentioned in this week's Game Notes, available at http://www.cornellbigred.com/news/2010/1/27/MICE_0127104700.aspx , he should break Jason Elliott's career saves record against St. Lawrence. He needs either 7 or 8 to do so; Cornell thinks Scrivens has recorded one more save this season than everybody else does. Also, if he appears in both games, the Clarkson game on Saturday will be number 103, pushing him past David McKee's career mark.
