According to the Yale Athletics site the Cornell game will be televised on Versus. Start stockpiling Zoloft.
Versus will also carry Yale's game with Harvard.
Three other Yale games will be carried by YES (Yale Emphasizes Sports Network? Yale Eats...nahhhh): Brown, at Columbia, and at Princeton. Three more of their games will be broadcast on other networks.
I guess I should have titled this thread "Yale Football on TV." But then cbuckser would have banished me to the JSID Forum...**]
Bump. Game is just starting on Versus
Stephen Liuzza - Bryan Walters 81 yard pass on Cornell's first play from scrimmage. 7-0.
Impotent offense other than the trick play.
They should probably try for a passing play on first down one of these drives.
Or put Liuzza in at tailback and let him run.
The power is currently out there
The power is still out, at least for the Versus feed. They keep having commercials every two minutes, but haven't given any updates on whether the second half has actually started. It's a terrible job by Versus. They haven't said whether it's a power outage for the whole stadium, or just for their feed.
Update -- They finally just mentioned now that a transformer blew just before halftime, which is why we didn't get to see Yale's 56-yard field goal. But they still haven't said if the game itself has resumed, and if so, what's happening in it.
From livestats, Cornell just had a pick-6 and its 14-6 cornell now.
Still 7-6 with 7:28 to go in the 3rd. Oops, Cornell interception makes it 14-6!
Two first downs and fourteen points.::screwy::
Cornell end zone pick thwarts another Yale drive. It feels like the Red D has been on the field the entire game, but so far they are outstanding.
3 first downs -- 10 yards by Ganter to get it by inches on third down.
Now I've lost the livestats, any updates?
14-6; Yale ball on Cornell 47 with 1:35 left
Yale 1st and ten on Cornell 37 with 1:18
Witt gets inside the Cornell 14 and goes out of bounds
Incomplete pass; 2nd and 10 on the 14 with :54
Completion to the 7; :54
fourth and inches at the 4; :42
First down at the 3; :35
First and goal; incomplete; :29
Motion against Yale; 2nd and goal from the 8; :27
Back to :29 seconds
Completion to the one; 3rd and goal; clock not moving; QB sneak fails
Maybe Cornell called TO before Yale's QB sneak
Yale TD but 2-point conversion FAILS
Thanks a bunch for the updates, Al and others. There will be no happiness in New Haven tonight!
I had turned Versus off because they said the game was over and Cornell won 14-6, they didnt even mention Yale's TD.
Versus really screwed the coverage of this game up.
Three Cornell first downs to Yale's fifteen; Ganter's longest completion for six yards.
Three Cornell first downs to Yale's fifteen; Ganter's longest completion for six yards.
Outgained on offense 296-166, with about half of the total offense coming on the trick play at the beginning of the game. But hey, a win is a win.

Beats the last five Bowl appearances.
