Since a link to an article about D'Amigo was posted, here's one about Brandon Pirri, his probable linemate next season, from the NHL site http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=425714.

A tremendous amount of additional material has been posted by me and others on these two and the other 2009 and RPI future recruits on USCHO http://board.uscho.com/showthread.php?t=84742 and on the earlier threads linked in the first post there.

Probably Harvard's Louis Leblanc will be the first ECAC player chosen.

A lengthier Binghamton article about D'Amigo http://www.pressconnects.com/article/20090624/SPORTS01/906240323/JC+native+s+work+ethic+impresses+hockey+observers.

I would like to thank Montreal for making Louis that much more unlikeable. I'm going to enjoy watching Cornell soften him up along the boards.

In an interview, LeBlanc said that he's planning on staying one season max at Harvard.    I wonder how the Harvard people are feeling about that?

Unlikeable may have been the wrong word.

"Well I hope to be there a year, or two, maximum, and hopefully make the jump to the NHL."

Maybe Louis isn't such a bad kid. ;-)

At the same time he did kind of take a dump on college hockey there.

I prefer to think that he took a dump on Harvard.   ;-)

That's what is making it so difficult to not like the kid. :-P

I know it could never happen, but it would be great to see the Harvard Admissions office come back and say, "We've decided to give your spot in the Harvard University Class of 2013 to someone who actually plans to graduate from Harvard in 2013. Sorry, bud."

drafted by Toronto in Round 6, Pick 7
Title: gotovets

Kirill Gotovets to Tampa Bay Round 7 Pick 2.
This may not be good news for Cornell.  In an interview earlier today, Brian Lawton, GM, said he likes to get his draft choices into the organization as soon as possible.

That's sad, think of how many more gauranteed A+'s he's missing.

7th rounders would usually be safe, though.

Edit: Keith has the same pearl of wisdom in the other thread.

This is what TB's Head Scout said: "Kirill is a smaller defenseman that can really skate and move the puck well...He will go to Shattuck again next year and Cornell the season after that. He has an abundance of skill and sense. Kirill will have to get stronger due to his size, but he is definitely worth the gamble."

Hopefully they'll give him at least a few years with Cornell. Of course, Cornell has to fend off the WHL and the KHL as well.

rushing people into the organization seems somewhat ironic coming from one of the biggest busts in draft history...

Well, Bill Gates did at least *intend* to graduate originally.
