Title: Tickets for lacrosse at Brown
Post by: Al DeFlorio on April 20, 2009, 10:35:17 PM
Someone just posted on laxpower that Brown is recommending buying tickets for this game in advance: http://www.brownbears.com/sports/m-lacros/spec-rel/042009aaa.html

I just picked up two at  $5 apiece plus a $1/ticket service charge.  Interestingly, they are "e-tickets" so warm up your printer.

I'll be curious o know whether you really needed the tickets (i.e. they sell out or come close) or if it's just a clever ploy to charge more service fees.

Sounds more to me like they don't want fans having to queue in long lines approaching game time.

You mean ticket offices can sometimes act out of positive motives?  Wow! :-D

I'm guessing it would be more out of self-preservation in this case.

Eh.  I went to the game @ Brown two years ago when CU was coming in undefeated and had no wait for a ticket at their little folding table. There was even room to move around in the stands.  Get there a little early, and you'll be fine.

(Yes, I'm disregarding the fact that Brown students don't care about anything for the sake of my hypothetical situation.)

I'm really really gonna try to go but my offspring has a birthday party 10-12 and ballet class 1-2. So I'll probably be late.

[Not worth its own pre-game thread] Let's hope the hockey team's maddening variability - beat a good team, beat a mediocre team, oops lose to a team ranked lower than you - rears its ugly head here. We did not have a roll-over victory last time in Providence. But what a gorgeous day for lacrosse in the northeast kingdom, finally! 75 degrees and mostly sunny day forecast. LGR!
