Can't take unnecessary penalties in an important game when you're a team that can't score goals.

Is anyone else bothered by ESPN having NE-homer announcers?   I think I'm listening to a NE radio broadcast.   Is neutrality too much to ask?

I was wondering if it was just me.  Horribly biased announcing so far.  Very disappointing.

I never felt that was the case. Even if they knew more about Hockey East, which I assume they did, they didn't seem like homers at all.

I agree. They were amazingly excited as Barlow's goal developed and more so right after it happened.

It didn't seem biased to me.  They seemed to do the standard schtick where they get really excited about whoever is playing well at the moment.  I'd rather have announcers that are more low key and neutral.

It's still better than Barry Melrose going on and on about Jackie Parker.

I agree witth redice bigtime.  If you have the stomach to watch the broadcast again,it was a gigantic love-fest for NE until Barlow's goal, then they recognized us.  Aside from the graphic showing the NCAA tournament history, robably 90% of the commentary was about how great the NE coach is (repetitively so), slobbering over their "play along the wall, and raves about Theisen, even a feature about him.  They mentioned Cornell only in the context of Northeastern in the whole second period.  I think they read the NY Times article on NE this week and that was the total of their pre-game prep.

So this is where the bitching about the broadcasting is.  Refer to my post about Bob Norton in the postgame thread.

Another sticking point: the cameraman for the midwest regional appears to have been hired from the RedCast.  He has no idea where the puck is half the time.  IMO, cameramen for hockey should always have *played* hockey at some point in their lifetime, because I frequently know better than the cameraman where the puck is just based on what the players are doing even when it is hidden by the boards.

Bemidji looking good, even on the PK.  I'm impressed.

The good news about Bob Norton this year is that he held back his urge to tell the complete life history of each player as each time he said their name.    Now, that really gets old!!

But, he still sucks!!
